Stuff I miss:

People not staring at their phones all day
People not relying on their phones for work and social life
Work not expecting you to be married to your phone
People not getting outraged over every small transgression and blowing things out of proportion

Stuff I do not miss:

Playing a game and not being able to figure something out, and spending hours of frustration trying to figure it out. Now I try a few times and then just look at a guide. Time is precious

Listening to moronic DJ's prattle on while I'm hoping they play my favorite song sometime in the next hour or two, and then trying to record it.

Rewinding.

Shitty SD quality TV with massive bulky screens.

Being able to google something instantly on your phone when you're in a bind rather than blindly guessing

So, yeah, some of the social stuff can be messed up but the modern internet really does make life convenient.

Pre-internet: No online porn!

You would give up online nookie for the days when you had to sneak a dirty mag from pop's dirty mattress?

Sure there was, in the form of dial-up BBS (where you were likely to encounter the frustration of waiting 5-10 min for a dead file!)
(don't worry,mods, pic is safe!)

This chick was maybe a 5-6/10 a few hours ago. Few drinks later and I would like to make a few babies with her. I think god endorsed booze. What do you think?

Everything post 2000 makes me fucking sick. I remember when we used to go outside to see how our neighbors were doing.

I remember when the kids (me) used to go out and play night games.

I remember when if you wanted to know someones relationship status you used to grow some balls and ask them.

I remember when you wanted to know your dealer's stockpile status you would bike a few miles to find out.

I remember when a single titty was jack-worthy material, nowdays I need some hardcore shit to even phase me.

I remember when an entire Saturday was exploring the world, now it has become "explore 3% of a virtual world".

I'm starting to hate the future.
You forgot:
I remember when I use to be able to get it up.

i definitely don't miss the pre internet days. i'm a software engineer and i couldn't imagine NOT having stackoverflow as part of my daily tool sets.

what i do miss though is how people used to not be glued to their cell phones everywhere i go. i go out to eat lunch by myself usually once a week at work, and it just amazes me how many tables of 3-4 people i see where nobody is even talking but everyone is looking down at their phones.

i also hate how everything thinks they need to document their entire live and let the entire world know about it. but that also ties into the overusage of cell phones.

that said, i'm currently working on a major side project that i'm hoping will become a full time job, that is a mobile app where you log in with a facebook account.

if you can't beat em, take advantage of em!

Nearly everything you just listed is self inflicted. Grow a pair and stop looking limping through life on the Internet.

The only thing I got online this weekend for was to buy my ski pass for next year and post a couple Instagrams from the weekend. The rest was family time, outdoor activities, and friends.

Umm we still go outside biking, etc. We still do sports (organized) for the kids.

When they have a playdate, they play video games though (because they already play on soccer teams, etc. and that's more fun than not getting enough neighborhood kids). That much certainly has changed, but we played lots of video games pre-internet too.

Pre 2000? Hell, I was already spending most of my free time playing online games and chatting on IRC back in 1998!

20 years ago I:

1. Slept better
2. Was more social
3. Was more physically active
4. Gardened more
5. Went to actual B&M stores and shopped
6. Read more
7. Kept up with new movies better
8. Traveled more

All this stuff is totally on me of course. There is this thing called willpower and I don't have to stay parked in front of a PC playing games or browsing. It was just much, much easier to do so WHEN IT WASN'T THERE.

I use to stand in lines more at the B&M stores. I had to often pay more for shopping at B&M stores. I couldn't like like a [fat] king by getting home deliveries for nearly free back then. I had to deal with traffic for work, play and vacation. I had to endure having a better viewing experience in my home theater than paying someone else for a bad viewing experience and some a-hole asking me to move in theaters.

Well at least we escaped the tyranny of our local retailers with their limited selection.

However this one-price-fits-all pricing really irks me.
I refuse to pay $7 for a $3 bottle of shampoo just because someone in NY is willing to.
