I really want an 8800GT but

Here is my current situation, I am slowly updating my hardware and am buying a new video card soon.

I have around $200 to spend on ncix.com but most of the 8800GTs I see are around $230 and the ones under $200 don't look very good.

The only games I am playing are World Of Warcraft, Counter Strike: Source and Grand theft auto 4 when it is released to PC in a month. I will be buying a new monitor, probably a 22" widescreen and running two monitors, one being that 22" and one is my current 19"

Since the games I am playing aren't very graphic intensive I am wondering can I go with something like a 9600GT or 9800GT or even a 8600GT?

My current card is a 7600GT.

I would prefer to stick with nvidia cards but if ATI is making a better card for the same price then I will go with that.

I have heard I should go with 512mb card over a 256md card since I am running a higher resolution, is this true?

Yup, because that is just a renamed 8800 GT. It's the same card.
But if I had your money I would go for one of these:

or one of these if you are more into Nvidia

Both cards offer quite the same performance and are more suitable for your future 22 inch monitor then 8800gt/9800gt cards are.

Any of those cards will get you smooth gameplay on a 22 inch monitor for the games you're asking about. However, the 4850 is the best bang for the buck, in my humble opinion.

Forget the 8600GT you mentioned, it's not significantly faster than your current 7600GT.

As for the other cards, they all are commonly available with 512MB vRAM; and to game on a 22" 1680x1050 screen, that size of frame buffer is what you should be shooting for, particularly if you ever use AA.

How can you not find that? lol. It's under the weekly specials. I was wondering where you got $200+ for a 8800GT from.

If you really want to spend your $200, you can get a ATI 4850 for around $160. It's faster than the 8800GT/9800GT.

Oh I never look under weekly specials, I just look under video cards.

And no I don't want to spend all $200, less money is of course better.
