Pizza joints have to outnumber any other type of fast food place by 10 to 1. There are at least 12 different pizza places that will deliver to our house, and new ones keep opening up. I can't understand it - they all sell the same things and 90% of them are mediocre. Where does all the business come from?

Americans eat approximately 100 acres of pizza EACH DAY, or about 350 slices per second.

Pizza is a $30+ BILLION per year industry. There are approximately 69,000 pizzerias in the United States. Approximately 3 BILLION pizzas are sold in the U.S. each year.

Pizzerias represent 17% of all restaurants.

Pizza accounts for more that 10% of all foodservice sales.

93% of Americans eat AT LEAST one pizza per month.

66.66% of Americans order pizza for a casual evening with friends.

Each man, woman and child in America eats and average of 46 slices, (23 pounds), of pizza per year.

Italian food ranks as the most popular ethnic food in America.

According to a recent Gallop Poll, children between the ages of 3 and 11 prefer PIZZA over all other food groups for lunch and dinner.

A study done by a U.S. Department of Agriculture statistician and home economist found that in a three-day survey period, 42% of children between the ages of 6 and 11 had eaten pizza.

94% of the population of the U.S. eats pizza.

Took a coworker there. Two burgers, 1 large fries and two small drinks = $22

Great burgers, really, but not $11 great.

Two burgers each? A single burger is not $11.

Overpriced. Bigger and better burgers for less at several local establishments with great atmosphere.

Yeah, Five Guys is some good stuff. I can't eat it too often, because I feel like crap after stuffing myself with an entire bag full of fries.

You guys are nuts

http://www.culvers.com/ is great, only to be outdone by W W Cousins... too bad they don't have a webpage. Food network magazine had it as the best burger joint in America at one point, they serve your burger plain on a bun then point you to their GIGANTIC burger bar that contains anything and everything you would ever want to put on a burger

I don't find 5 guys good enough to brag to everyone I know about them. Really didn't see the big deal after I moved out here. Extremely greasy burgers though... I can tolerate greasy food really well, but 5 Guys burgers upset my stomach all the time. However, I really like their fries.

Cheeburger Cheeburger is awful. Worst service, their fries are soggy and bland, and their hamburgers don't taste anything special. The only "special" thing they have is the 1 lb burger they sell. They closed 2-3 of them locally around here and unfortunately, I see they opened one up in my old homestate of CO.
