So the animal is guilty of following his natural instincts for survival...
I guess that's a good enough reason to kill in hick town.
find a dick and get on it nancy.

Sad.

killing a coyote is sad?
Those things kill anything they can get their teeth into. Killing one is a good thing.
God you're dumb. Shooting something at 80 yards in 1 shot (especially in the neck as the OP claims) requires a fair bit of skill. You're so manly. I can somewhat understand you shooting it cause it was killing your neighbors chickens by why you posing by it like it's something special? You proud of yourself? Man you're so pathetic. Really sounds like a chicken sh@t excuse to kill something. "Yeah I heard a chicken got killed so I killed the nearest wild animal I seen. Yuk yuk.."
I watched a fascinating program on dogs and man the other day. The short answer is no, you will probably fail with a randomly selected wild dog pup.
The interesting thing is, pick a friendly one, and do that with successive litters and you end up with a domesticated 'dog' in just a few generations.
The Russians did this huge study using silver foxes, and the foxes even changed colors as they became more tame.

Good shoot on the coyote, now go out and try to kill as many of them as you can.
My cougar/coyote gun is a Savage .243/12ga combo over/under. If they come in real close I will use the 12ga barrel, but most of the time I am shooting the .243 with handloaded 55g Nosler Ballistic Tips.

Its fun to shoot them this time of year, and local farmers and ranchers just love for you do do it on their property (though I typically go to BLM land around here).
I am always hopeful that a cougar will come into my electronic call, but most of the time I just get the retarded coyotes.
I would love to see a really big wol...I mean coyote come into my crosshairs one day, a whole pack preferably. If they have radio collars, I will just have to make sure it gets thrown on a train or something going through, so it can appear it is migrating.

If it is real cold outside, you can prop them up to freak out neighbors, like a friend and I did at his place one winter on a 20 below zero day -
Saw this the other day as I was driving home from work. Middle of the DFW metroplex and he walked 30 feet from my car.

I'd pose with it too. That was a great shot through the vital area - animal probably died a very quick death. You're so manly. The program he's describing is almost certainly the Nova episode Dogs Decoded. It was quite good, I saw it a few months back. Here's an online version I found:
Dogs Decoded 1/3
Dogs Decoded 2/3
Dogs Decoded 3/3
I have wondered if it's possible to raise one from a puppy as a pet. They do seem to be somewhat intelligent. I've known you can get wolf mixes.

I would be more impressed if he made the kill with his bare hands. Shooting a animal from 50+ yards away is so pussy. The coyote didn't get any advantage like that.
Wile E. Coyote, Supergenius.Wow, I didn't know coyotes were so beautiful. The ones I've seen are all brown and dingy looking.
