I shot the neighborhood K9 this morning... Cautionary PIC inside.

Good shoot on the coyote, now go out and try to kill as many of them as you can.

Its fun to shoot them this time of year, and local farmers and ranchers just love for you do do it on their property (though I typically go to BLM land around here).

I am always hopeful that a cougar will come into my electronic call, but most of the time I just get the retarded coyotes.

I would love to see a really big wol...I mean coyote come into my crosshairs one day, a whole pack preferably. If they have radio collars, I will just have to make sure it gets thrown on a train or something going through, so it can appear it is migrating.

My cougar/coyote gun is a Savage .243/12ga combo over/under. If they come in real close I will use the 12ga barrel, but most of the time I am shooting the .243 with handloaded 55g Nosler Ballistic Tips.

If it is real cold outside, you can prop them up to freak out neighbors, like a friend and I did at his place one winter on a 20 below zero day -

OK.

Fuck you, you ignorant fucking twat.

Got enough rifle for that beast? You could have backed off to 500 yards just to give him a chance.

Perhaps you're confusing the round I used with something else?

The 7.62x39mm is a .30 cal round, most popularly known as the round used by the AK-47. Its less powerful than a .308, more like a .30/.30, but can handle a conical bullet (unlike the .30/30 which needs a rounded bullet as it is tube fed).

I use it for deer, good out to no more than 150 yards for me. Anything further away, and I bring out the 'ol .30-06.

Went down to the inlaws today and he said coyotes had taken down a cow a week or so ago. Guess the cow was calving and the coyotes got to it. He said he put out some rotten food and some sort of poison mixed in it back in one of the fields and saw two dead coyotes a day or so later. I guess killing them that way is even more pussyish, huh zepp?

Actually, yes it is. No idea what animal ends up getting poisoned that way.

I don't think he really cared. my excellent compatriot, possum, bobcat, all nuisance animals to him. I cant really think of what else would of possibly gotten into the baited food.

Too bad. Randomly dumping poison into the food chain is irresponsible.

Looks like all the ATOT rednecks are out in full force. We are on top of the food chain. We have millions of animals bred and slaughtered on a daily basis for our consumption. There is just no reason to hunt wildlife unless you have some psychotic need to kill something.

Just out of curiosity here, if this was your farm and coyotes were eating your livestock....your income to put food on your family's table....you would simply allow it to happen and explain to your family that there will be no food because a pest animal is following his natural instincts and you don't want to interrupt him?

I have a lonely tree in my yard...care to hug it?

"In fact, an abundant supply of resources can produce a population boom that ends up with more individuals than the environment can support. In this case, starvation, thirst and sometimes violent competition for scarce resources may effect a sharp reduction in population in a very short lapse (a population crash)"

If you took the time to read your own link, you would learn that nature has its own way of balancing population.

What kind of sick fuck are you to suggest that starvation is a better answer?

Next time you have a mouse infestation, remember that - no traps allowed. No domesticated cats either...you have to wait for a wild cat to stop by your place to take care of the problem.

Seriously? C'mon.

There are many non-lethal ways to prevent your livestock from predators.

Yes. Nature provided us with steel, lead, saltpeter, charcoal and sulfur.

Meh.

I would have called the authorities, tranquilized it, and had it relocated to appropriate grounds.
