because my personality doesn't fit anywhere else.. it's a barrier
only in a technical workplace type setting, I can be somewhat competent

hopefully this doesn't offend any engineers

I graduated with a degree in Mech Eng and I was only an average student in high school. You just can't leave your homework in your locker like you did in high school. You actually have to work at it. Besides, I found once you made it through the first year it got considerably more tolerable.

Wow, I found it only got more difficult after the first year. I am in grad school and these classes are the most difficult ever.

Well not "anyone", but a person with average intelligence and an above average work ethic can easily outperform a brilliant slacker in anything you want to mention.

I didn't mean to suggest you have to be brilliant to be an engineer, but rather the opportunity, a moderate ability in applied physics, and I'd even venture to say 'an interest in the field'. It's the sort of thing that would be too boring for a human to bear if one wasn't at least intersted in it.

Anyone who doesn't mind being anally raped by the proffessor can become an engineer.

Close Purdue Univ.

One guy I knew actually took a jar of vaseline to a EE final. When the prof asked him what it was for he said "It's so I can stand up and take it like a man!"

yes.. I was a big computer geek in high school so I never developed the proper social skills... I find it hard to mesh in with people
it's weird.. I was improving greatly in terms of communication and dealing with people... as soon as I return to the U.S... I'm completely over worrying and anxious around people now.. I don't what happened to me.

Fixed.

It's true.

There's nothing special about engineers, they're just grunt workers who use their minds instead of their muscles.
