I stopped smoking today

After 10 years of smoking, I called it quits last night. I decided to stop killing myself. Anyone want the rest of my carton?

Malboro lights? I would have quit smokint too. Blahhh, nastiest ciggerette ever made.

But congrats, now if only I could stop. It won't happen for a long long time though, stress+my life = the need for smoking cigg's. If I ever get a better job, with more money, lose some weight, get a decent g/f. THen I can try to quit. Now it would be impossible.

Congratulations, you should check out the kind of effects you get from it. Within a day you taste food again, and in a month risk of heart problems go down 50%, theres a lot of benefits, but I can't remember them all.

That's a cop-out, the order is reversed. If you stop smoking and decide to get healthy, you may lose weight, get a decent gf and a better job. Plus you'll have an entirely new lease on life.

I quit 5 years ago on New Years Day and used the patch and everything else I could think of to help me quit. Wasn't easy but somehow I managed to do it. My wife on the other hand has tried to quit about a dozen times since I have and has been unsuccesfull

I used the patch, a pipe with some tobacco from the pipe shop and those fake cigarettes that put a hit of Nicotine on you're throat for those really hard day's.

Thanks. I just went cold turkey. I know it won't be easy, but I'm gonna try to make it on my own without a pipe, gum or a patch. I'm just gonna take it an hour at a time.

Everytime I try to stop, I always get sucked back in by smoking here at work. Only at work, just to break up the monotony (sp). Ugh. I know it's killing me one day at a time.

Maybe for you. Doesn't work that way for me. Although you do have a point, smoking just because of my job is necessary for my sanity.

I might as well be inhaling air, but for some reason I just can't do it. I have tried MANY times, with a week to 4 weeks succes. Unfortunately never permanent.

Congrats man, seriously! I hope you stick with it. My gf used to smoke, and since I'm an asthmatic, that wasn't so great. She finally quit but it was hard. Her parents on the other hand - it doesn't look so good. They are from Eastern Europe and it's been in the family for years.

Anyway, get to 3 days are you are set, you can do it!
