Any tips for an intermediate level player? I've been playing for about 3 years now (took a long break and now I'm trying to play seriously again) and I'd like to get a lot better.
Things I've been practicing so far include:
Sweeping
Legato
Pentatonic/Pentatonic Blues scale
A Minor scale
Tapping
A little bit of string skipping
Rhythm/Beats
Finger melody songs (White Lion, Metallica, Tesla , Kansas, and some blues/jazzy tunes)
Pinch harmonics
From what I've seen of my playing, my fingers don't coordinate well. My picking hand will sometimes be too slow or vice versa and sometimes I'll end up hitting the wrong string (but this could because I have partial ADD and start thinking about other things while I play, even on stage). Right now, to pick up my finger speed and precision I've been practicing Necrophagist, progress is steady!
Any thoughts, input, or advice on what I could do to improve my guitar playing would be great! Thanks for the read and I appreciate any replies.
