I think a lot of dudes are treating under armor like girdles

It doesn't really have a girdle effect though. It just conforms to your body. Now, for skinny people, it does have a slimming effect because most Tshirts are bigger, so when you wear a compression shirt it would let people see how skinny you are. Fat people still look fat.

However, I wear it for its intended use, exercise. Helps regulate the body temperature in warm or cold weather, helps prevent chafing, its lightweight, tight fitting, etc.

Why does it "get you"? Why do you care at all? Why do you feel a need to make a judgment about someone because they are wearing something that you wouldn't wear? Even if judging was the right thing to do, how do you know your judgment is correct? How do you know he didn't just get back from a 20 mile run and decide to go out to eat before getting changed and showered? You have no idea what the situation is except for your brief superficial view.

And you probably find this acceptable.

Unless you're also wearing a t-shirt over it, it magnifies your fat lumps. I did not find it flattering at all, but I usually only wore it under motorcycle leathers or other layers during cold weather.

I ctrl+f'ed by post to make sure I didn't say something by accident... but I never said surprised. Is that its intended purpose or not? And do you consider it cheating to just wear shit that's slimming instead of working at it?

Yes, it's cheating. As I said, people will do anything to enhance their physical appearance.

Air flows through them like you're wearing nothing. I wear em when running in the summer and it's almost like wearing nothing at all. The only bad part is mosquitos can also bite through them a lot easier than cotton so I'll put some spray on the shirt.

I guess they do make you look "cool", but I wear them for function as well. Nobody wants to see a half naked, sweaty old man running down the street.

Unless it directly affects me, e.g. the stench has a 10 foot radius and extends into the neighboring booth where I am sitting, no I don't care. If it doesn't affect me, why should it require my acceptance? Nice of you to also ignore everything else I said.

I use under armor when I work out... I don't ever wear it when I'm not doing something athletic though.

One exception: their underwear is fucking unbelievable. The mesh stuff. I now wear it all the time, not just when working out. It keeps my boys dry and nicely packaged up against me. I HATE the feeling of boxers when your nuts flop around. I hate briefs...the boxer jocks from under armor are worth the $20. And during a workout, doubly so.

Dude, seriously? Why would I want to prevent my balls from sweating during a workout and deprive myself of the post work out rub and sniff? No way would I give up that post workout pungent treat!

I only wear compression garments for athletic activity. For a better appearance, I prefer to wear fitted clothing.

What gets me is the guy who wears this shit to a restaurant as casual clothing like everyone is going to see him and think he just summited Mt Everest or some shit.

I have a few Under Armour t-shirts, hoodies, and hats that I wear because they're super comfy. I don't wear them as any type of fashion statement or to try and look tough. The only time I wear the skin tight stuff is when I'm working out... never in public.

if course it would smell bad. I have coworkers that only shower every other day or so(older dudes) and they smell like BO, imagine if the ran then did that shit.

awful.

And I've known people who stank right out of the shower. That has nothing to do with the shirt a person is wearing that some people seem to be offended by. This discussion is as ridiculous as talking about wearing white after labor day. I may disagree with other people's fashion choices but I will never fault them for wearing functional, comfortable clothing and not giving a crap about what other people think.

I agree that:

a) its stupid to wear it as a real shirt(like just it, when out, at the gym or splayinga psrt ETC is fine. I do yardwork in one in the summer sometimes to keep me as pasty as possbile )

b)stupid to judge someone for wearing it as a real shirt

c) stupid to think someone that just ran 20 miles isnt going to stink like a hog farm.

yes some people reek right out of the shower, usually it involves odd diets, like curry, garlic, vegan...

Seriously, I've never understood the obsession with Under Armor. No different than any other athletic wear but twice the price.

There are equals but there are also a lot worse. I only wear UA shorts under my regular shorts to the gym to cover my thighs when I squat, I think it looks better than my pale ass legs. I also have a few shirts that I wear mostly during MMA, they're not more expensive than most rash guards.

Maybe they're running, or going to the gym and just decided to wear it as an undershirt? Mine aren't all that tight, the fit snug but I don't think they would make me look any skinnier.. and why the hell do you care what other guys are wearing or paying that much attention to their clothes?

I wear UA type fabrics when I'm skiing because it keeps you warm. After skiing, sometimes I wear it to a bar or a restaurant if I haven't gone home yet.

I'm not sure what type of environment you are seeing people "casually" wearing this stuff, but I figured I'd offer this scenario as something to think about.

I usually just wear baggy t-shirt and jeans. I really don't care if you think I'm fat or skinny or whatever. My wife always says I should wear tighter clothing but I couldn't care less. If a guy has a set of beef tits and wants to wear UA who cares. I have a tapout t-shirt I bought just cause I liked it. Not because I think I'm Johnny Bad-ass.

I play ice hockey, soccer, and softball, I noticed a lot of guy wearing UA so went to the sporting goods store and checked out their stuff. My opinion was that it seemed overpriced for what it was. What the fuck is the problem with that?
