I think Gadhafi underestimated the international military response

Sure they might do covert ops and relatively limited air strikes but it is hard to even put it in the same league as the multination gangbang that is currently happening in Libya right now. That was my point, that I believe you get, what is the difference between them? It damn sure isn't loss of civilian lives.

No disrespect whatsoever to the troops on the ground in Darfur, the Kongo, and other places I haven't heard of. I shall raise a glass of whiskey in their honor shortly.

One big difference is location, take a look at a map, you can't deploy easily in all areas.

I wish i had some Laphroaig, i'd gladly join you but even if i did, i'd probably better not... heh..

You're going to have to sacrifice yourself and have one for me too.

The French couldn't find their own ass with both hands.
Just shut the FUCK up you retarded twat.

Trying to piss on a NATO ally is so fucking low that not only should everyone here be ashamed of you doing so, everyones fucking relatives should be ashamed of you doing so.

EXCELLENT work so far, surgical strikes (funny how they missed all the hospitals and actually hit targets they were meant to hit, isn't it?) and good results.

Just so all twats get this, most of the Libyan reg mil is on the side of the people, it's Khadaffis own security forces that are the problem, all in all, the people are winning and taking back lost cities at this point.

Damn fine job, congrats to the lot of us! I suggest pissers take the door to the left and piss on China instead because they are the only ones complaining, hell even Meddie boy told Putin to shut the fuck up... i like that.. i like that a lot.

This is like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Underestimated? Haha right. How can you underestimate the USA and France? Overestimate maybe but under? they never had a chance and never will. Kinda sad to and an unfair fight... but well, it's an easy win for the collation.

I don't understand why so many Americans rather be a lone superpower than having a few friends. Obama's leadership with other countries on how to tackle Libya has been outstanding. The guy is just so clearly better at this than alot of presidents before him. Make no mistake Obama gets it, yeah he's bought by walstreet...but every now and then you remember why the guy is the President of the United States.

I remember him and McCain arguing about different dilemmas happening at the same time. McCain kept on about how one thing needs to be prioritized at the cost of everything else. Obama just said, "why not do both?" Thats what Obama is doing right now, HES DOING BOTH...filling out brackets, negotiating trade with South America, nuclear meltdowns, and building a coalition of the truly willing. I mean for christ sakes he got the U.N. to do something.

And lets just say this who thing goes bad, then we just drive our boats away. You got congressmen saying things like if we go a little, we go the the whole way. If the French and British fuck this up then its shame on them and us. But at least were not in another Republican created quagmire.

Ooooh, the Brit still sore about losing the revolutionary war and having to beg for help during WWII. Does your butt, I mean pride, still hurt?

How exactly was that well put? As I pointed out in the "other" thread, Bush had twice the allied nations for Iraq '03 as Obama has for Libya. To me the distinction is not that we aren't "going it alone", but rather than we are a supporting force rather than the main effort. Otherwise you're reduced to arguing that Bush's nations are inherently morally inferior to Obama's nations, presumably because of Obama's electrifying Almightiness, so that Bush's coalition is to be discounted whereas Obama's coalition is to be celebrated.

I support Obama in this, but it's counterproductive at best (and disingenuous and dishonest at worst) to denigrate the allies that help US in favor of allies that allow us to help THEM.

This is an internationally sanctioned UN mission, legal unlike the bombings of Serbia or the invasion of Iraq, in Afghanstan the UN has no say, attacks on a hostile enemy are always sanctioned per international law.

Don't get me started on the Iraq invasion though, you know very well it was presented before the UN and laughed out loud at, or if you don't know, it was laughed at, a big reason why he retired later, he didn't want to do it and he was ashamed just standing there declaring what he knew was outright lies.

So as not to bring what he did good down i won't post his name, i suggest you refrain from doing so too even though we both know who i am talking about.

The point is, this is VERY different, much like if the Iraqis had revolted and we had helped them take down Saddam without interfering more than absolutely needed for them to do so.

But you already know that..

The coalition forces need to at least arm the rebels with anti tank weapons to give them a fighting chance. Gadhafi's forces are trying to protect their tanks from aerial attack by moving them into populated areas.

Unforetunately he also appears to be moving civilians as human shields into airports and other critical military installations. He will try his best to force this into an urban warfare situation.

You can bet the french special forces are on the ground with weapons and logistics.

I was listening to Charlie Rose and he had some French people on there basically saying president and military is in tight with Rebels.

1. Why would i defend France, we lost the war to France, without them you'd be speaking the Queens English you daft twat.

2. Roosevelt said "we will not get involved in Europes war" no one begged you but when the Japs bombed the sheit out of Pearl Harbour and the Germans declared war on you you had to come join the effort to fight Nazi Germany, very late in the game.

You don't know your head from your arse, don't adress me again until you have enough knowledge to actually make a proper point, i'm not here to educate you.

You can't do surgical strikes via GPS so... yeah.

There are targeters on ground, have been for a LONG time and from more than one nation.

The Canadian info is known and the rest should have been cleared with it, it wasn't, but it's still cleared, just not published.

Because you both were both woefully unprepared for WWII and still leaching off the US to this day which provides half the funding for NATO. Hell, the Germans are kicking your butts economically even after the Soviets devastated half the country for almost half a century. If we left now you'd be right back where you started.

Yeah, Roosevelt wanted to get into the war much sooner and Churchill begged him too, but it was unpopular. By the time we got in the game Briton was already on its last legs and falling all over us as their saviors. Ya'll couldn't get your shit together then and you still can't. Like the French you're just living off past dreams of glory and getting the shit kicked out of you hasn't inspired you to change.

If you expect me to go soft on you think again. American's love a winner, hate a loser, and don't like pulling punches in the name of civility. You can argue with the French over what's the proper decorum for war.

Are you joking or is that what passes for history lessons in the US today? Along with Georaphy you won't know where you are or where you came from. LOL teen ANGST!

It's always up to others to stop Europe's mess. Unfortunately, I'm not sure why the US has to keep cleaning up Europe's messes. We should probably impose forced reparations on Europe to compensate for all of their bloodlust that they have committed upon the world.

You can pick your nose, you can even pick your friend's nose, but you can't pick your family. Reparations sound good to me though. Nothing says you can't kick family in the ass once in awhile.

I'm saying you are being sarcastic.

Even if there are elements like RabidMongrel and CanOfShit that will even agree with you when you make up the strangest things that comes to mind i am quite sure that you do just that, make them up...

And now you know why i took it seriously, there are people like that, people who are as daft as the worst antithesis you can come up with...

Perhaps whether you see something as sarcastic, humorous, serious, or whatever is just up to you and what kind of mood you are in. Hell, half the time I don't know myself whether I'm being sarcastic, serious, or whatever. Sometimes I think its better that way, other times I don't. That's life.
