I was thinking credit card as well. However, on the subject. If you want something significantly cheaper might want to consider the Kel-tec pf-9. I think it's slightly thinner than the pm9 and carries an extra round. It seems as long as you get a new one it should be reliable.

I've not had the chance to shoot one, but have held one. It's too small for my liking and the grip had some rough edges. Still for the price(I think ~300) it's a pretty good value.

Kahr makes a good gun, but I have heard some potentially troubling things about the PM9. I've heard that the polymer frames are prone to cracking. I recall a figure of 10,000 rounds being tossed out as the company's rated service life for the pistol, which is fairly short as pistols go.

I've become a convert to looking for a small 38 special revolver. I've heard great things about the Ruger LCR. I'm more of a fan of semi-automatic pistols, but revolvers are, on the whole, more reliable. If I'm going to CC, I want something that will go bang every time.

I wonder what the service life of the LCR is?
You would think that the Kahr would have a lot more going for it considering it's 3 x the price of the crimson trace LCR.
