I think I'm ready to get the heck out of here. Any suggestions from Americans?

Well, since you speak English, and you are educated, immigrating to America will be very difficult if not impossible for you.
Now if you only spoke Spanish and had little to no education to speak of, you could come right in and get all manner of public services handed to you.

That is the sad state of U.S immigration policy.:|

EDIT: Doh... thought you were on the East coast of the US.

ya, canada is a good idea, just not Quebec. When you learn the language and a valuable skill, come on down.

As you gave NO hint as to where you are it is difficult to give you any advice. The thing to do is to get to Canada where you will have NO problem getting into the country, if you ask for asylum you will be granted it with no problem no matter where you are from. Then apply for a US Visa from the consulate and about 2 -3 years later you will be able to come to the USA. When you are in Canada you will find many support groups to help you get settled and get a job.

And your answer;

Hey yeah, immigrate to Canada. Pretend to be French and they will welcome you with open arms and probably skip the usual paperwork!

LOL, you sound pretty desperate. Come to Mexico. Here in Cancun you don't need to speak Spanish; it helps but most of the people here speak at least a little English and you can get by easily. Just come on a tourist card and forget to leave. If you like it, marry a Mexican girl and get your immigration squared away. We've got lots of ex-pats from all over the world here; mostly Americans, Canadians, and Germans, but quite a few others as well. South of Cancun there's a few ex-pat colonies that you won't find much of anything but English spoken. You can hang out on the beach in a tent at a place called Xpu-Ha for a few pesos a night and be a beach bum. Go snorkeling, learn how to dive, chase girls, drink beer all day, whatever. There's lots of ex-pats that camp out at Xpu-Ha year-round on a permanent basis; others camp for several months before moving on somewhere else in their travels.

It may not be the answer to your questions but it might give you time to get your head screwed on straight and who knows, you might just like it and stay for good. If you do that, it's not too hard to pick up a little Spanish while you're in the sack with a local girl.

If you'd like to start over, attend university in America and work towards a new degree...or maybe just get another accounting degree or MBA...that will buy you some time over here to try it out and re-evaluate if its really what you're after. Then, if it is, work towards gettting a job here w/ a company that will sponsor your visa.....then hook up w/ a woman to marry you and live happily ever after.

Good luck comrade

I don't think so. Yes, I am afraid to go illegally that's why I'm still here. I just don't see any way for me, that's why I'm ranting here on this forum instead of doing some practical things. But seeing as how all these millions of people go, I think I could do it too. Heck, I could even live under the bridge, just not stay here. Yup, I live in Asia, but I live in Russia, and not in China or any other purely Asian country. And who else could hate his own country if he wasn't a Russian? I don't think so.

Thanks for all the replies, anyway. I know it's a very wrong thread for this forum... But it isn't only American, you have to notice. Even people like me browse it so...

its possibe to come to usa legally! but it will be hard. Do u have any friends/family members in usa if so that is good. If u have them then contract them and request that they fill out grencard lottery application. Better pay someone to do it for u, have better chances that way. U may get lucky and win or u may not. Also your second choise is to go israel. Also didn't see u mention this, what religion are u. It make a difference. if u are christern then i guess israel is not for u but if u are jewish then that could be your choise. Also u already did your army duty in russia if so did u have to sign anything that would prepevent u from living russia for x amout of years?

Go to Mexico, head for Tijuana. There are muchos hombres that can help you get across the border.

Or you can go legally.

Or go to Cuba and build a raft and float to Florida.

Or you can go legally.

Didn't Russia use to do mail-order brides? Do they still do that? That could work.

Solo mis dos centavos.

Actually, Russia is located in Eurasia. The European part is separated from Asian by Ural mountains.

Now that we know where he is, I completely understand Booster. Being an immigrant from Soviet Union myself I will attest that Russia has got to be the most depressing place on Earth. Most of the country lives in dire poverty, countryside has not changed since 17-18th century, I am not kidding. Electricity, indoor plumbing, paved roads are mostly unheard of in rural areas. The country is drinking itself into oblivion, anyone who has an opportunity to leave does so without second thoughts.

I will second the "emigrate to Canad" motion. You can get in easily and legally, but you won't be able to just leave right now. It'll take about a year to a year and a half.

My family emigrated from Bulgaria in the mid nineties. My parents were both educated and knew english, but had no relatives here and we they still had no problems...

Btw, why don't you move to Moscow? I dunno exactly what your problems are, but maybe being in a big, western-like city will help?

Anyway, good luck.

Your best bet is probably Canada. We welcome immigrants, especially ones with skills. Although your accounting experience would be useless here, at least it shows you're educated and can learn.

Allright, I'll try to cut the long story short. I'm very much sick of my life. Tonight, I've been trying to draw some results of my life, after having consumed some considerable amounts of substances such as those who are only those older than 21 y.o. can consume legally, and I'm older.

I fully realized how worthless my life is, and how much it sux. At first, I thought I'd just kill myself. But soon thereafter, I understood that I can't and don't really want to do that. I have narrowed all my problems to the country, economy and culture I'm living in. I fully understand that I'm not compatible with this culture, and don't want and simply can't stay here any longer. All my problems are from this. Screwed up things like this.

Ideally, all that I want to do is:

1. Pack up my most valuable things, sell all the scrap, buy a one-way ticket to depart. I want to go West. I've had enough of this screwed up Eastern madness.
2. I never want to see my father, mother or brother ever again, write to them or even hear about them. Fark them. Before you blame me for being an ingrateful SOB, well... I'd rather not go into details. I can't possibly describe here all the crap I went through with this people. Again, b/c of this cultural local crap.
3. Never speak my mothertongue again, meet people from my country (avoid those SOBs as possible) and generally forget all the crap that happened to me here.
4. Immigrate to some English-speaking country, since it's the only foreign language I understand a little. But I do not have a legal right to immigrate otherwise I'd be dead and gone many years ago.

Before you start bashing me, I just can't go on living like this any longer. Wish I could explain all the details but it would take too many pages and I don't think anyone's gonna read that.

I think going to another country is better than just killing myself... I may be dumb, but how do those FOBs get to your country... I dunno. I played the DV lottery, it doesn't help. But I can't wait any longer. I must go or die. Fark everything. Just to forget all this crap and start a new life - that's my primary objective.

Now... what do I expect. To tell the truth, nothing. Yes, I have higher education and work as an accountant, but it wouldn't help me in another country since I don't know that country's laws. So I'd be just a vagabond. That's fine. That's all I want. To get the heck out of here, and I don't need anything else.

The worst thing is that in current state of things it's illegal for me to immigrate. Since you, Americans, see every day lots of immigrants, can any of you tell me how did they get to your country? I may not necessarily go to your country, just wondering. I just desperately need to go anywhere I can.

So pls don't piss on this thread, maybe any suggestions instead?

Try moving to another part of the country. Moving say from the midwest to Florida, Washington state, or even Hawaii would offer you plenty of change.

Wow from the stories I've heard I'm surprised you have to be 21 to drink there!
Best of luck with the change.
