I think I've worked out elite status

Has anyone noticed everyone who joined in October 1999 is Elite? I was just looking through a few posts and they all are... maybe that's the hidden key

a) Adul's a "lifer" now... riiight
b) Go look 99% of the elites... all Oct99 - coincidence? I think not... despite the fact that that was the start of AT forums in it's current form, you'd expect a fair few from Nov, Dec etc etc.

Umm no, nice try though, you do know oct 99 is when everyone who was on the old board re-registered on the new sofware right and not some magical number?

october 99, AFAIK, was the last time there was a database crash and everything was lost, people had to reregister. So everyone that was here before then, reregistered at the same time.

The signifcance of Oct 1999 is that that was when the new Forums Software came online, and they lost the previous database. So all the users that signed up in 10/99 have been here for some time before that as well.

And I am an Elite and I joined well after that.

There are several other elites that joined after that to.

LMAO.... My Original Nic was regestered in late oct of 99..... But to bad my PC Crashed for 2 months & I Forogt the PW... & Than even worse spend another few months trying to remember it...

lifer is just a euphemism for nef and we all know it.

noriaki is an elite for giving lots of tech support i think... though i could be wrong. its a rather thankless thing to do, but occasionally you help out that newbie that gets it all together based on what you told him and thats really nice.

Yeah, my elite comes mostly from "doing time" in general hardware
