I think John Kerry's speech may have just cost him the election

Kerry had better hope that the undecideds out there weren't watching tonight, because if they were he's sunk. Complete and utter dreck. IMHO there will be a sharp decrease in his polling numbers in short order. I was leaning towards him before, and now I highly doubt that I'd pull the lever for him under any circumstances.

I agree that it was a bad speech, however his speaking or Bush's speaking ability does not matter much to me in terms of who I would vote for.

Edit: By bad speech I mean his presentation, not the substance.

I think the speech would of seemed a lot better if he didn't deliver it today. It was pretty sub-par, especially compared to the speeches of Obama, Edwards, etc.

I take it you've never heard G. W. Bush open his mouth?

I don't really care what W sounds like. I already knew I wasn't going to vote for Bush and still won't, so it's a moot point.

I thought it was kind of cheezy, I don't know. It seemed weak compared to everyone else. He was over shadowed.

I admit, the beginning was cheesy.

Well I was a little surprised, unfortunately I only caught it halfway through....

First off I couldn't help but notice just how much he was sweating, not trying to throw a jab there cause I sweat a good deal when nervous as well but with the camera and all it was pretty obvious, I think I even saw him wipe down once...possibly should have considered more botox as I heard on the news that helps for reducing sweating

Secondly for most of what I caught I didn't think he was as energetic as Edwards, especially with re. to the level of enthusiasm of the people in the "chant" help is on the way vs. Edwards hope is on the way...however he did get a huge response with his comment on the consitiution and at the very end.

I was really amazed though that he was bold enough to say that they would definately persue drugs from Canada and other countries, I know that at least with my company this is a big issue and it may cost him a good amount of votes with Biotech/Pharma professionals as this will hurt their industry greatly...obviously for me this would be bad, but since Bio/Pharma has been the salvation of the Massachusetts econ it could do a good deal of damage to his home state along with the others that have heavy bio industry.

Other than that it seemed ok...thought the "call out" to the prez at the end was kinda cheesy as well as the Van hagar music....not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, just didn't seem like the crowd was as into it as Edward's speech though.

As always just my 2

I think it was a strong speech. He didn't mince his words but stayed away from getting personal. I think he's has started defining himself and his vision. I hope it works .

I didn't catch most of it. Instead I went out for a jog. The parts I saw were not too bad. At least he didn't talk like he was on the Senate floor.

This is whats puzzled me about the Democrats. For as much hatred they have for Bush policy, as disgusted as they are with the handling of Iraq, as militantly opposed to Bush having a second term, this guy is who they chose? Why? Why Kerry? What exactly were people thinking during the primaries? Was it just the fact he was a Vietnam Vet and people thought that he would look strong in the face of terror? The man has a horrible senate voting record, a massive flip flopper on issue after issue, and what many consider to be questionable actions recarding Vietnam protests.

I am not voting FOR Bush this election, thats for certain. However, the chance that I would have voted for a Democrat flew out the window as soon as it became solidified that Kerry was the nominee. I would have SERIOUSLY considered Edwards, would have voted for Lieberman, would have considered Clark, and taken a good hard look at Dean. Its a real shame.

It was a standard political Speech With proper Pronunciations.

This Speech Now limits republicans Ability to Claim

A. Flag
B. Patriotism
C. God

as their own.

the Speech Also took away alot of their ability to paint Dems as Pesomists.

the Speech Was Positive about america.

It wasn't the best I've heard, but not bad at all.

The panel of analysts on PBS agreed that it was effective and would help his candidacy.

Terrible indeed, at no point was there any comedic pronounciations like from our other nucular buddy. I like a good laugh every now and then and only Dubya provides that in droves. Make me laugh once shame on, wait no make me you giggle like a schoolgirl, wait no thats not it either. ah nevermind.

Thats a doctered photo.... Not to mention his senate voting record is comparable to Cheny's. We put ALOT of money into the military and how much do we see? Look what happen to the Commanche project!

Agreed, he was eh sweaty. I don't think his speech lost him the election, but it didnt make him win it either.

Not personal? My favorite part of the speech was the jab he took at half of Bush's cabinet without naming names!

Excellent speech in my opinion. I loved the subtle jabs at bush and company. The Help is on the way, didnt go as well as it could have, but it was great how he shoved his military service in Bushes face. This is energy Kerry needs to push him in a winning position until November.

'A secretary of defense who listens to the minitary leaders, an attorner general who defends the constitution.' It was the best part!

I thought it was an incredible speech. I wasn't 100% behind Kerry before, but you better believe I am now. He outlined a few key policies, managed to draw very sharp distinctions between him and the current administration, and spoke with fire and zeal.

I thought it was very well crafted and delivered to point out the key differences between him and Bush.
