It's nice new carpet, but after a few nights of walking around on it barefoot, I've been poked by little sharp tack points. Nothing so bad to make be bleed, but it's annoying. There's quite a lot of them along the walls. There's either no padding or very thin padding. The floor feels fine and the carpet feels soft. It's only when you find one of the tack points that it becomes a nuisance.
Anything I can do about it? Just crawl around looking for them and hammer them down to dull them? While I can sorta feel the floor underneath, it's not that bad, and I won't feel inclined to pull it up and put padding down if I can find an easy solution to the sharp tack points poking through.
I've googled a bit and I'm reading that unless I want to pull the carpet back up, which could do more damage than it solves, that I should just lightly tap the tack points with a hammer to dull them and just deal with it.
