They speed things up compared to checks.
cheques don't happen anymore. Well atleast where I shop.
They speed things up to most things in general period.
You think a debit card is slow, just wait behind a woman paying cash. She'll wait until the total is displayed, will only then start looking in her purse to find her wallet, and will then insist on finding exact change which then takes another 10 minutes.
O.K. I laughed. They truly don't speed up anything. they slow everything to a crawl. Money motherfuckers..put some bills in your pocket you fucks.

I was in the grocery store today, and a woman used a check like a debit card. She gave the cashier a blank check, and then did something on the terminal. I wasn't paying super close attention because it's impolite, but I've never seen that before.
I use cash. It works, and it's anonymous. It's nobody's business when I'm buying amoni... um... kitty litter.

If the OP is having a hard time shopping in places with slow plastic transactions, perhaps he should shop somewhere that doesn't still use these:

I swipe my card and quickly enter my pin as they ring up the first item. It saves time vs cash.
So basically, you are agreeing to purchase items that you don't even know might go across the scanner. Smart lad you are.
Advantages to Carrying Cash:
-Universal currency, can be used anywhere.... well, sort of... You can't buy drinks on airplanes Other places will only take cards too.
Disadvantages to Cash:
-Asking to get mugged. Whip out a wallet and pull out large bills and people will take note.
-If mugged you lose everything.
-Bum's will come up to you asking for spare change.... and you can't say you don't have any :sneaky: (I get this daily)
-You lose it... you lose it. There is no money-back guarantee.
-Currency is only good in the country of origin.
Advantages to Credit Cards:
-Earn % Cash-back. Depending on the vendor, I get 1 - 5% Cashback. EX: Currently I get 5% on Gas stations and restaurants.
-Money-back guarantee's - if you didn't make the charge, you won't pay for it.
-If you get mugged and someone takes your credit cards, you can cancel them in a 2 minute phone-call. If they do manage to charge $500 you aren't responsible.
-Money is transferable and can convert to any necessary currency.
Disadvantages to Credit Cards:
-Nothing.
In conclusion, if you still use cash you are retarded to boot and can't handle finances.
