Seriously though, this was released at an nVidia bought and paid for event, so until more independent sites (not biased THG) come out with proof then I'll wait.

It may have been bought and paid by NVIDIA but it was the developers who were doing the talking regarding the cheats. The whole point I was trying to make is that everyone cheats. Even I have cheated in the past (school).

I had no idea the video card industry was becoming so political. Everybody tries to dig up dirt on the competitors instead of fixing their own stuff. nVidia needs to stop worrying about the screen being out of focus and work on becoming less reliant on its drivers.

Here, here!!! I am not a gamer but i have to admit I find Nvidias direct x9.0 debacle far more devastating this...When a develop has to nearly spend more time trying to get a card to work to decent levels using an adopted industry standard like direct x 9.0 seems a bit more embarrassing....Also the fact that Nvidia consistently put out drivers that increases speeds but in much instances they do it by sacrificing picture quality....

I own both and would by either if they had a good price on the card, but I think ATI is still a more credible company in my eyes....

This is sadly true: TH has some very well built reviews -the 16/20 ms crop of 17" monitors was a great review, especially the colour space charting- something you can't find any were else. However, you gotta wonder when they review a single monitor and say "we've been getting a flood of request for this monitor to be reviewed, even though you've never heard of it". Further, my Motherboard just arrived from New Egg with a fat TH choice award sticker on it -I'm sure Tom let's 'em stick that on there for free, right?

When it comes down to it, all this business about flexing video cards oiled up on stage don't mean jack until HL2 is out to bench mark -and Valve has thrown it's weight behind ATI, so I doubt they're going to oblige. This means when the XT line of ATI cards hit the shelf with the HL coupon, there will be no way to know if it's a good deal. I heard a quote from Valve saying the game was perfectly playable at 30 frames per second -Yikes! Well, at least they haven't massively dumbed down the graphic detail -like Doom 3 has.

Tomshardware found no evidence of problems in either UT2003 or Halo issue.

As for Aquamark, the benchmark is running at different precison levels on the different cards so a comparison might not be entirely valid in this case.

I didn't care when nVidia was accused. I don't care now. I won't care tomorrow or the day after. For the record, I have two nVidia graphics adapters in my computers. A GF2 MX flavor in the server and a GF4 Ti4200 in the main rig.

Because they're fresh out of outrage after the tenth nVidia cheat used it all up?

I'm perfectly willing to get annoyed with ATI, but
(a) I'm waiting for a little more evidence
(b) I'm waiting to see whether ATI behaves as shamefully as nVidia has been acting for the last year.
