I only played WOW for a month... i'm in college.. I wanna get back into it. Advice is welcome.

Other facts:

- Making good grades
- Girlfriend played WOW with me during one month trial
- I'm an insomniac.

why did you quit in the 1st place? i recently started back up after probably a year or more away. wouldn't have done it if i hadn't found my HS friends who played it. now i play with them and its better than playing alone.

divert your energy and enthusiasm into something that will make you money.

you have two main obligations to yourself in this life

1) get paid

2) get laid

getting #2 is directly related to how much you are getting #1

rich and laid and successful = happiness

WOW is the direct opposite of all that

As long as it doesn't negatively affect the other parts of your life there's no reason not to if you enjoy it.

If you know you'll only be playing it with friends, or when you feel like it, it's not bad. If you start doing raiding schedules, then that's what the problem is.

you can wave those goodbye

you'll stay that way.

posts like this always make me laugh

Yep. Always from people who probably haven't even played the game.

People post this because the sad part is for the MAJORITY it is true! But, does not apply for everyone...

EDIT: Also yes I did play the game till level 60 and I find more time for other things in life now that you do not have to worry about damn raid times and all...

I tried really hard to get into it, but I can't get past the wonky controls and interface. I guess I'm just stupid. It's even a struggle to initiate combat! I'm either too far away or too close to my target. Meanwhile the enemy kicks my ass (usually it's a stupid baby timber wolf) while I'm trying to stand exactly 5.43295 feet away for my attack to work. Am I stupid?

You would think that playing WoW while in college would be stupid, no? Just what you need.... another excuse not to study.

I played the game since launch. When I quit, don't remember how long ago but it was a month after Naxx came out, but my guild was half way through Naxx. I had 3 level 60's and 2 of them in Tier 2. I maintained my gf and my full time job the entire time. I enjoyed the time I spent in the game.

Even after saying all that, life is so much better post WoW. The ratio of pleasure / time invested was WAY to low.

Don't do it. Trust me, as a current college student, you'll regret it. Read a book or something instead.

The thing is some girlfriends require different amounts of time then others... I mean I know a couple that only see each other once a week and others on a daily basis so it is different for everyone...

Especially raiding mc/bwl/aq40/naxx over and over and over, and wiping while getting an instance on farm. That and how much pvp is needed to reap any considerable benefit.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. You might regret later if you went through 4 years of college playing a computer game 5 hours or more every day.

Don't do it. I spent a lot of time playing it, and it was a lot of time wasted.

I was in the same position as you.

I used to play WoW, a year or so ago, then quit.

9 months ago I started dating this girl.. then found out a bunch of my friends were playing and I started craving it.

I downloaded WoWGlider, and now my computer plays WoW for me all day. I'm almost lvl 60 since my char grinds all day for me... So instead of craving WoW when I'm working or with my gf, I am just pleased to know I'm technically grinding all the time. Then, when I do have free time, I can run instances.

It's the best of both worlds!

If you like raiding just for loot, go ahead. Personally, I think its boring and that having a schedule play games is lame.

Play it with friends, but only a little bit...
Now except for playing WOW make money and you will feel better in the long run.

HAHA, you need money to get laid?!?

sure being successful usually results in happiness, but money isn't everyones idea of success. and it certainly isn't necessary to get laid.
