I once had SOTN on my PSP, it was awesome. If you liked any of the Castlevania games you'll probably like SOTN.

There were definitely certain things about Symphony that made it pretty awesome. First, while being a Belmont was often cool, in this one you got to be the half-vampire song of Dracula before the sparkly vampire craze made them lame. Second, while a whip was kinda neat, this game gave you a huge array of mostly swords with the occasional dagger, mace, or cane thrown in. Also you have the fact that it's a classic platformer style game with a lot of neat RPG elements thrown in. You level up and gain stat increases, you can get better armor and swords, and you can get secondary equipment that increases your stats. Also the familiars are kinda neat when you get them.

Unfortunately I can't bring myself to be challenged at the game anymore. If I play I just farm 2 Ring of Varda and a Crissaegrim and the game is a retarded breeze. In fact it's a breeze before the Ring of Varda because the Crissaegrim is just too powerful.

You should be order of the ecclesia for the DS, then. I can't bring myself to keep playing that one, it's too damn hard at times.

The only games that got close to SOTN were the ones with Soma Cruz; on the Advance and DS.

SOTN is GODLY and timeless as far as I am concerned. I can play that everytime and not feel it is old, stale or boring.

I played Aria of Sorrow a couple times and its fun on the first run through but it can be too quick and easy. If you're slick you can get Claim Solis early and then you never need another weapon. Once you get Red Minotaur you never need another attack spell.
Has little replay value. Its amusing to get the special bonus weapons and start a new game with all your equipment and most of your souls, but theres no challenge at all.

I've always been a fan of CV games.
Playing SOTN was on accident. I rented a game and SOTN was in the case instead. It was after midnight before I opened the case, so too late to take it back.
I played it for a while and really didn't like it much. I took it back the next day and got another crappy PS1 game.
For some reason I played it again a few years later, and it's been one of my favorite games ever since. I can't count the number of times I've played through it.

In the little bit of free time I have from school I been playing it.
OK, not great. The GBA games are better.
Am having a hard time figuring out what to do, and the walkthroughs are not helping much. I got copy them to Word and reorganize the text to be helpful.

If you have a PS3 or PSP, you can download it from the Playstation Store. That is if they ever get it running again.

I have it, and seriously suck at it. lol. It is said to be the best Castlevania game though. I can see why.

It's been awhile, but I've played it just fine on ePSXe with graphics plugins to make it look really nice, even better than the re-releases that are out there.

PS2 slim.
Doesnt work. And I dont feel like buying another system, not even the PSP.
Does the PSP emulate it or is it a different release?

They PSP emulates PS1 games with a few tweaks here and there. Mainly control layout because of the single stick.

Have you tried a PC emulator?
