for $50k you could get probably 10 '90 mustangs..
and vettes are $40k, not 50 >>

If I buy one it won't be new, probably a 97 or 98. So probably more like 25.

Good info, Russ. I've never really found a car I've been truly comfortable in, I've always had to slouch so I can see out of the window like a normal person. I think the only vehicle I've ever been able to sit up straight in was my uncle's F-150.

I'm close to 6'3" and don't have any space issues in my dad's 96 C4. We test drove a 99 C5 and still didn't have any problems, although the C5 is much more roomyy

I guess going to the dealer and sitting in one would be a silly suggestion.

I think the '56 is still my all time favorite.

When the closest dealer is 250 miles away, yup.

A base Vette is 43K

A convertable is 50K

The Z06 starts at 51K

With any of them, by the time you add desirable options, you're over 50K easily. Over 60 with the convertable and the Z06

I am 6'4" 200 pounds, and plenty comfortable in my fourth Corvette. The C5's are not loud and are not gas guzzlers; my lifetime gas mileage on the present 2000 FRC is 21.7 with not a single trip outside the county. Not one problem on the car (other than anwering numerous questions when filling up), and the only reason I would get rid of it would be to get a 2003 Z06, which I plan to do. And by the way, you simply can not option a Z06 up to $60k since there are only one or two minor options available on that model. My tag: C5AIMER, so duck and/or get out of the way!

If you do get a vette, make sure and buy a nice towel to lay on the passenger seat.

But then I'd have to throw out my t-shirt that says "I'd rather push my Corvette then drive Jap Crap."

LOL, Russ.

I'd hate to have a white car . . . I'd wanna wash it four times a week.

White is the number one color chosen by women. Get it?

Ahhh, good point.

So has the minivan been supplanted as the Compucheap delivery wagon? I know I'd pay extra to have my parts delivered to my door in such high style.

Actually, the other way around. The Vette just wasn't practical after I went in to business for myself, so it went bye bye a long time ago.

Corvettes come with just about every option. The main ones you might want are the Z51 handling package, Sport seats, etc...
All vettes come with power everything and leather.

So you can get a vette for the low 40's or a Conv. or Z06 for the low 50's
