Is there a way I can do this. For instance have it copy all pictures over to a certain folder.
I can't find anything I have been on Google for the last two hours, and have yet to find anything.
My camera is a Sony DSC-W90 if that helps any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Tyler
Nothing I can think of will do this. You could accomplish it, but it will require some work.
Write a udev rule so that you camera when plugged in always mounts to the same place if it sees it as a storage device. Sometime storage devices will grab the first sd(x) slot so you will sometimes get sda1, sdb1, etc?
My 10-custom.rules example:
ATTRS{ieee1394_id}=="0030e001000002e4:0:0",NAME="card_reader"
get the attributes to use with:
udevinfo --attribute-walk --name /dev/hda
but change the device
Mounts my ieee1394 card reader to /dev/card_reader regardless of which order its connected. Then I can mount /dev/card_reader to /whatever at anytime.
Then use a cronjob(once a minute check) in python or perl to monitor udevmonitor, when it sees the appropriate device attach mount it and start the copying/moving. Then do something simple like what gthumb does and just create a time (down to the seconds) and date stamped destination directory for the transfer. Then unmount it.
This is all in ubuntu?
