<< "Not the point of the Bike"
Ya, I know, they are not made to go fast, but how come the first thing people do is put on Screaming Eagle this and S&S that? They just must be to slow to ride stock I guess. >>
Fast in a straight line, and fast through the twisties is two different things. Sport bikes are designed to do both, a harley can be made to do one of those. A lot of people who ride harley's still like to stand on the throttle off a light, and know they have some power, but they aren't interested in laying the bike down through corners. Straight line speed is a hell of lot different than a tossable bike that handles great. You can build a V-twin harley that will keep up or out accelerate a lot of sport bikes, but they aren't going to beat them in handling, because they aren't meant for that.
To me, a bike is a bike. No matter what you ride, you are a fellow motorcycle rider.
