Well, I've joined the team and installed the SETI client and it's happily churning away BUT I get the following message when I click the Join link:

Web Page Missing
The page you selected isn't on our server, or currently unavailable due to hardware/software maintenance.

If this is a broken link, please report it to us via the bug report form on our help page - make sure you categorize your report as a "Website or CGI Problem."

If you ended up here while trying to access personal/team stats, or read the newsletters, or submit a bug report form, then CGIs have been turned off. You needn't bother to send us e-mail, as we are quite aware of the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience - we turn CGIs off occasionally when working on the user/science databases.

I will try again tommorow. Thank you all for the assistance and the warm wishes of welcome!

There seems to be a problem with the new member registration. I had problems helping "db" join up this morning. I reported the problem to ViRGE but haven't heard back from him.

I logged in and made some changes to my profile and when I hit "update", I got an error message that I was NOT a member of Team AnandTech.

As a test, I then tried to register as a new member. I then got back a message that an AnandTech member with my email address and name was already registered.

So in one area I'm told that I am not a member and in another I'm told that I am a member.

This is what I think the new members may be running into.

I've had the same problem as compudog... And I get the same error when I click submit on Join Group from Hellburners link... I'm not a member of a team now so you'l get my units when I get through but anyone got any more ideas? Damn databases!

It seems to function for me, but then I've added &quot;128.32.18.175 setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu&quot; to my hosts file so maybe any redirect from the join button knows where to go?

The problem that compudog is having is with joining TA SETI ,it's down to the problems that S@H are having &amp; not Teamanadtech.com.That seems to be the case looking at his error message anyway

I'm not moving from another team... Just installed Seti on my machine I've just built... Duron 800@900 (for now - hopefully more later) 224MB RAM... But anyone know why it has varied from 57 minutes to 18 hours to do one unit under the same conditions?

Ax - Sometimes you get a bad work unit with a lot of noise. The prog will just toss the wu out if it detects this. I've processed some in less than 1 min! For the long times, you may get a wu known as a LAR, Low Angle Range. These take MUCH longer to process than others....then again, 18 hours is HUGE! You should be getting about 7 hours with that rig. At that pace, a LAR may take 10-11 hours, NOT 18 hours.

What client are you using? Do you blank the screen?
