I was in our shed.
Our shed is just a wood frame with plywood walls, concrete floor and a tin roof.
Yes, tin roof.
I was in there checking to see if my laptop was working OK (stored it in shed) after hanging up the cutters that my wife left out. It was raining and I didn't want them to rust.
Just then there was a big flash of light and all of the power went out in the shed. My hair stood up and I felt what would it would like to be zapped by a tazer in my leg just behind my knee (all at once of course. It was lightning.).
I dropped the laptop (it's a military issue GRiD pad so I'm sure it's OK) and fell to the floor.
I wasn't knocked out, but I couldn't move. I wasn't paralyzed. I think I was just scared sh!tless as to what had just happened. About 30 seconds went by and I was able to collect my thoughts. I was thinking of testing the theory of lightning striking the same place twice.
I heard my wife in the house yell asking me if I was OK. I got up and immediately ran into the house. Why run? I don't know. Maybe I thought I could out run lightning.
Begin Rant:
Just like when I'm sitting on my stool at work and getting ready to eat a sub sandwich from Publix and some customer feels the need to call and interupt me so he can ask if a T-Bird 1GHz will work on his Asus K7V, God has to interupt MY DAY with a freaking lightning bolt.
He scares the crap out of me and makes me drop my GRiD! It probably has a knick in the case now! Never mind the fact that it's still on as I type and the battery is probably going to die. Yeah. I could go get it and plug it back into the charger... as soon as I feel it's safe to go outside again! :Q
