I went and did my first binge watch of a tv show on Netflix...fml

I don't binge anything..besides you know what. So yesterday I was on netflix..just recently put it on my computer. Saw a show called Salvation. ..it was about an asteroid heading to earth..at first I thought it was a movie..so i started watching it.

13 episodes and skipping the superbowl yesterday...i watched the whole first season. I was kinda proud of myself for some reason. I go and google when then the 2nd season is coming out on netflix. Turns out there is a second season already on netflix. The google search also told me it got cancelled after 2 seasons. I've never been more let down in my life after reading that. I can't even be bothered to watch the second season now, even though its pretty awesome lol. I feel so burned and mislead. I'm going back to my torrents.

All good things must come to an end at some point - even the best shows have fully planned and formal endings, and to me it's not a letdown at all. I don't feel the time was wasted, don't feel my life is over now that this addiction is over, etc.
Even on bad shows that I still got sucked into, or good shows that got canceled early because the network is a bitch (I'm looking at you, Fox), I don't feel my time was wasted. Did I enjoy it? Did I get to escape reality for a fair amount and watch a great story that still lasted a lengthy run-time? 10x 1 hour episodes is still a heck of a lot of good entertainment. I feel, if the show was canceled early and the series ended on a cliff hanger, oh well... now I'll just imagine the rest on my own. And onward to the next show.

Though I'm still quite peeved about Firefly, Dollhouse, and Sarah Connor Chronicles. Fuck you, Fox.

Oh man, you gotta watch Altered Carbon though. Blew my mind, pretty great and the sci-fi aesthetic was amazing!

Altered Carbon def deserves a watch. Gets a wee bit gratuitous with the nudity and violence, but it's completely tolerable given all the other good parts. Recommendation seconded.

Another good series. Been a Matthew Rhys fan even since I saw him skillfully display several classical theatric sword fight routines (no easy feat). Respect. He's been holding it down for Wales awhile now. His ability to conceal his Welsh lilt and sound East Coast/Mid Westish is a testament to his acting skill, it's fooled several people I know who thought he was American or at least Canadian (no offense intended Canucks).

I see that CBS All Access is also bringing back The Twilight Zone as well... I might need to sign up for a trial to watch those once the show is released.

Firefly and Dollhouse were both shows that ended way too soon. Jeremiah was another such show.

Canadians/Americans have overlapping accents, at least in aspects. There has been a lot of intermingling, over the years, influencing spoken language. So I understand that from a European or other part of the Earth that the accents can be difficult to distinguish.
