This is actually my wife's who is an optometrist. When she first started out she used to work for this incredibly cheap old guy. One time the prescription she wrote was questioned by him because she did not cut it. I asked her why the fuck he would do that. She said his reasoning is people get a headache from getting the full prescription. I called bullshit and she said yeah...he needs people to come back more often because there isn't alot of margin in the business. So pay attention if the final prescription you get isn't as clear compared to what they got you to on the refractor, they are jipping you

OK let's see yours

Far too many glasses frames have a wholesale cost less than $50 when retail is >$300. I've even seen glasses frames with retail prices of $200 or more wholesale priced at under $10.

Of course, the "high end" stuff, like sunglasses from Maui Jim and Oakleys, are only doubled their wholesale price, but the vast majority of the frames on the boards in the optomitrist's showroom have markups that would make a jeweler blush.

Friend of mine used to work for a delivery company that delivered big furniture, like sofas. The firm had a big contract to deliver for one of the local "leather discount warehouses". You know, the ones that have a perpetual 75% of sale, buy one sofa for $2999 and we'll throw in a reclining leather armchair.

Occasionally, one of the sofas would fall off the truck, or be dropped, or otherwised totaled. And if that happened, the delivery company would have to pay for it, but they would only ever have to pay the "wholesale price". My friend once dropped a big 3 seater "Italian leather" sofa, and snapped off an armrest and shredded up the leather real good; basically, it was totalled. The cost of the damage was $150.

Your regular average life is worth just around US$ 1 million. It goes into cost-benefit analyses -- engineering industry.

When I worked at the rental company, we used to sell prepaid gas at a substantially discounted rate over pump price. Of course it was always 13% lower than pump price. Why such an odd number you ask?

When gas is sold here, the price advertised at the pump includes all taxes. The rental company used to take the pump price, deduct the tax, put the new price on the board, then added the tax back as part of the final total for the rental. Sales tax here is 13%

No customers ever called us out on it. In fact staff and lower management didn't even know until I was bored one day and did the math.

which is why whenever i look at furniture i think it is so overpriced. you could make the frames and then buy nice cushions for them. some of them like basic wooden chairs are completely able to be make by amateur woodworkers

A personal care product, such as body wash or hand soap, might have residue from a different product previously run on the production line, e.g. a shampoo might be contaminated with a hand lotion. This is done if there's no time to properly clean the system, and is often done if the two products have similar color.

Here's another good one: in personal care products, "essences" or "extracts" that one might find desirable such as shea butter, green tea extract, vitamin E, etc. may be present in the product in a concentration of as low as 0.00001% w/w. e.g. as little as possible, just so that it can show up in the ingredient list.

I could tell you about dropshipping but I won't. Those are hidden secrets that no one should have.

The key to it is to actually know who to use.

Every assertive statement in most any report we write is likely modified to potentially be inclusive of weasel words allowing plausible deniability in the somewhat foreseeable event that things go bad.
