but it sucks with slower cpu's, we all know that, so why do you still ry to recommend it, same reason you recommend a AMD cpu over an Intel?
Yet you don't have any relevant benchmarks...

Got mine for $165 with 2 GB which should have been it's launch price in my opinion, though it seems to have sold well regardless. Solid performance, and not so terribly expensive that it would hurt a lot to sell it (or put it into an htpc) when the next gen comes along (depending on performance gains). Considering I'm gaming on a 720P tv though, I doubt I would need to upgrade for quite awhile.I'd be happy to challenge all 170$ 380 owners with my 960 card for 170$
It's a great CPU for your needs.I didn't think the i3-6100 was a slow CPU?

Maybe a 950 would be more than enough for my needs. I am not looking for an all bells and whistle card to be honest.
and your playing dum too? its called direct x 11 driver overhead...
you are assuming he is going to be CPU bottlenecked most the time

He will be with any title that requires 2 cores and that's plenty of titles today..

You do understand that this review was made on January 2015 on what it is now an 11 months old drivers ??
Do we have any evidence that the R9 380 have performance issues with Core i3 on the new Crimson Driver ??
Maybe integrated graphics will be enough for you then. You can always add a dgpu later.Maybe a 950 would be more than enough for my needs. I am not looking for an all bells and whistle card to be honest.

But that is not addressing the problem in question (if the relative performance remains the same when used with a dual core CPU).Erenhardt already posted a current "overall performance" chart which is showing the 280x with a substantial lead over the 960.
