960's despite the hate are great cards, even the 2GB ones. I would spend the extra over the 950 if its within 10-15 quid.

As long as the games are playable that is all that matters to me. I am not after really high settings etc.

Money is very tight! I could probably stretch to £120 but that is almost the max. I have been offered a 960 2nd hand but dubious about that as no warranty!!

I've got a 960 4GB EVGA 4TW card running on an ancient Phenom II X6 platform and can play Witcher 3 in 1080p with ultra enabled on the majority of things + hairworks enabled 60/FPS.

The 960 ain't that bad. I chose it over AMD because it's an incredibly efficient card even though and I'm an AMD fan through and through. Can't do 970 because I don't agree with how nVidia borked the memory, sure wouldn't mind a 980 though.

Cheers! First graphics card in years as always used integrated gpu!

Yeah I think you are going to be in for a pleasant surprise. GTX 950 rips any iGPU to shreds.

And yes 359.06 is the right driver. Be sure to install NVIDIA's GeForce experience tool.'it will make updating to the latest drivers really simple.

In Bios make sure PCIe first
Plug Monitor to new card

Not even that complicated. Download drivers, turn off computer, plug in card, turn on computer, install drivers, follow instructions. It's very likely that your motherboard is already set to "auto detect" for iGPU/dGPU.

As for GeForce Experience, I usually opt out since I don't use any of the features (game streaming, auto-configuration, etc.).

Yep! You don't even need to uninstall the Intel HD driver in a case like this (useful if you ever want to use QuickSync).

Teabaghead, do the following:

1. Download the latest NVIDIA driver
2. Power off your PC (and switch off your power supply unit)
3. Install the GPU into the motherboard (make sure to plug the 6-pin power cable into the card)
4. Power computer on (switch that power supply unit back on)
5. Install the drivers that you downloaded
6. Play video games.
