Can anyone tell me the difference between the two in the sense of gaming? Would I see a major difference if they were running say, the new Star Wars mmo?
The i5 760 can be overclocked by raising the bclk of the chip. This is not possible with the i5 2400s. However the i5 760 uses an older socket type (1156), which in the UK (can't comment on US) is barely available anymore.
The change from the 1st generation Intel® Core™ processors like the Intel Core i5-760 to the 2nd generation Intel Core i5-2400 at the same speed you should see the Intel Core i5-2400 having a 10% to 15% improvement.
For around $30 more than the Intel Core i5-2400 you can pick up the Intel Core i5-2500K and get a great deal more value from it.

MC withstanding, there are not a lot of great Intel options between $100 and $200. If you want budget, get a Gxxx or the i3-2120 with HT. Otherwise, I agree that the 2500K is really the best option at ~$200, unless of course you can get it cheaper. The 2400 is solid too, but if you want/willing to OC, the 2500K wins hands-down for the extra cost.
