1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
-playing wow MAX'D(ultra) possibly rift, most certainly diablo 3(can't wait) and a solid building block for battlefield 3(intend to upgrade gpu when times calls for it)

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread.
-$1000, pref. less

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
-US

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
- no brand preference, you could call me a newegg fanboy though

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are. \
-input and display

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
-read the majority of 2500k build threads in general

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
-open to the idea, not a must

8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
-1920 x 1080

9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
-asap

10. Don't ask for a build configuration critique or rating if you are thin skinned. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuilfFt67vY&feature=related

im looking for price to performance ratio with all components, not the best nor the cheapest. BANG FOR BUCK! the only other component i am leaning towards is an HD 5770 for my gpu, given that i am waiting to break the bank when newer titles(d3 and bf3 launch/get release dates) i would prefer to have an ssd in the build also.

Weak gpu.

4gb ram will be a bottleneck in some situations and even more so in the future.

Weak and cheap power supply. Never go cheap on a power supply. It is responsible for providing your computer with clean power and you definitely don't want it frying out your other components.

You're gonna be waiting until 2013 for D3

I'd go with something mid to mid high range in the GPU area. This way, if you do need to upgrade, you're not breaking the bank.

6870, 6950, GTX 560 ti are all good options right now.

Here's my generic recommendation. Pricing is approximate and may include common deals. If brand not listed, means get the cheapest one.

2500K CPU $225
heatpipe heatsink $25
overclockable P67 mATX motherboard of choice $150
4GB RAM $40
GTX 560 Ti or Radeon 5870 $180-230
DVD burner $20
Samsung F3 1TB HDD $60
60GB SSD $100
Cooler Master Elite 341 case $40
Antec NEO ECO 520C PSU $60
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $90
$990-1040

Here are my thoughts on this build. mATX because no need to go big these days. Need something better than stock, but don't need to go crazy on the cooling. Will want to overclock the 2500K to 4.2-4.5GHz (wherever you can get it at low voltages). Clock speed really helps something like WoW. Graphics card will help if you want to be able to run with higher graphics settings. WoW can run on just about anything, but if you want everything turned up at higher resolutions you still need a decent graphics card. SSD is for Windows 7 and WoW. WoW really benefits from an SSD.

4gb ram will be a bottleneck in some situations and even more so in the future.

I disagree. Games are still 32-bit, so will still use only 2GB RAM maximum. Unless the OP is multi-boxing MMOs, no need to go more than 4GB for a gaming rig.

Grand Total: $987.89

The promo codes expire soon so buy fast.

Damn, that is a pretty nice build. GTX 570 on a $1K budget is impressive. Why the Black though? I know the F3 is sold out at Newegg, but $90 is crazy.

OP, if you want an SSD instead, take mnewsham's build, drop the 570 down to a 6850, and grab a Force 120GB.

the black because its 80 bucks after the promo, had the samsung been available I would have elected for that.
