Realistically, this is going to change almost nothing. Everybody is still waiting for the 30th to see how things shake out. I think it's funny the criticisms this site gets, biased against AMD, biased against Intel, too slow on reviews, (now) too fast on reviews.

I've always found the coverage on this site to be valuable, regardless of when its posted. If Intel were to cut Anandtech off, I'd still wait for their reviews. Their focus on "useless scientific" benchmarks is useful to me because those are use-cases I care about. Heck, honestly, I would boycott them. Would do the same for AMD.

The point of the NDA is if you're giving out hardware, people are going to rush to be first, either in physically receiving the product or finishing the written review. Having an NDA lets you ship out a ton of CPUs without that problem, because everybody has to wait (so might as well do a good job). The point of the NDA (this late in the game) is to prevent half-baked reviews. Which, before now, is all we've been getting because Rocket Lake CPUs are out in the wild already. This is the first decent look at RL.

This site is great and has been so for 20+ years. And only one of the few left from the Old guard. Hardocp, Techreport done Anandtech still kicking.

Techreport! I'm still fuming in rage that they changed to that imbecile mobile layout and removed the excellent search features for their database. They promised that it would improved with time but nothing happened since!

So about the actual chip's performance.. Looks like Intel is squeezing out a turd at the end of the month that gobbles up power and not delivering top tier performance to make up for it. Unfortunate.

Is there anyone here that feels differently or won't be reading additional reviews?

I'll read one or two to see if the numbers line up with what Anandtech just published with their 11700k. It's not likely I'll go through a half-dozen of them though, unless I feel the need to get into some kind of pointless nerd fight over why Rocket Lake-S is actually a bad product. Might not be able to muster the will to go through with that this time around, though.

Would Francois approve?

LOL it's official, AT is in trouble now. It's almost as bad as if Dr. Cutress crossed sabres with an Internet Strongman!

Not really. For the actual launch review, Anandtech will probably only release theirs 3-6 months later. Look at the Nvidia 3000 series launch, sill no reviews from Anandtech..

It is very weird, " many people they only believe official after NDA expired CPU reviews".

This remind me on Ryzen 5 3600 test, who was original posted 24.6 2019.We all now, that Ryzen 3000 launched 7.7.2019.What was changed in the official CPU tests, well nothing changed CPU performance remained almost identical.

https://elchapuzasinformatico.com/2019/06/amd-ryzen-5-3600-x470-review/

We can ignore listed 7.7.2019 as test date, it was later deliberately changed to 7.7.2019.Here is proof the link below, exact date when forum post was written=it was never edited. If the post was edited, the exact time and date of the edited post would be indicated.

I understand the RL preview is causing heartache's for many of you, but GPU reviews kinda off topic for this thread no?

None of you guys are asking the real question: Why are retailers stuck holding stock of these chips for over a month? The NDA also should have ended sooner.
I thought that was clear by now: they moved up the launch date, but shipped the product according to the previous plan.

In fact we can reasonably conclude the original date was the day Mindfactory started selling it.

I think Intel planned on screwing everyone by charging high prices, giving false gaming impressions, and SELLING THE CHIP before the NDA lifted. This looks like an attempt to actually trick people into buying a crappy CPU, and Anandtech burst their bubble and saved the readership from wasting $600 on an overheated 10700k. Some small sites and forums may have had early performance numbers, but most people don't see those. A review from Anandtech makes the rounds though.
This is what has transpired. The words I say erupt like liquid hot truth from the core of planet Integrity.
