i7-875K: what am i REALLY running at?

just got an i7-875K (don't ask...) and am wondering how high Turbo works on these things.

i've only done 1 thing to o/c it for now, and that's change bclk from 133->150.

cpu-z reports a K 875 @ 2.93ghz (22 x 133), w/ the o/c @ 3.9ghz (26 x 150). is that right?
t-monitor shows it @ 1350 (9 x 150) when idle.
are there any other cpu clock speed / multiplier monitoring programs that i should use?

cpu z is accurate. also with a k series why did you raise the bclock over just upping the multi? it doesnt really matter but why pay for the k series if you are going to not utalize it?

well, that kinda leads me to my next q, how does raising the multi affect the rest of the system? speedstep "should" make my base mult @ 9x, regardless of how high i raise it, right?

but if i were to say, raise mult to 28x, does that mean on regular tasks, it'll do 28x, for multi-threaded tasks like encoding, it'll Turbo to 30x @ 4 cores, and for a 2-threaded app, it'll Turbo to 32x on 2 of the cores?

Yeah speedstep will still back it down at idle. And yes turbo will still crank it up. I noticed with my i7 though that disabling turbo allowed for a better overclock than using turbo boost.

Well with mine i could get to 3.6Ghz plus the turbo. With turbo disabled i was able to get to 4.2Ghz.

For me it's still a bit of a mistery. I have a i7-920 C0 on a P6T-DeLuxe and it will run 3.8 with turbo and HyperThreading (180x21) but it won't do 190x20...
I believe it has something to do with the BCLK but haven't heard of people running into trouble already at 190.

So turbo can also be a benefit

I bought a Intel 980 Extreme and found Intel has a Turbo Monitor for Windows Sidebar that seems to do a good job of monitoring it in real time.
