Is that your board?

If so, the mod apparently involves connecting two pads on the board?
Good luck, I hope they get it working for you.
I had to eat one of the GA-X58A-UD7 boards I sold on ebay. Guy sent it back claiming it didn't work (after I tested each one, I knew that was bs), and when I received it, he was correct, CPU didn't even get warm. Upon further inspection the back of the board had a milky residue around several mount holes, and even by the 12v. CPU supply area. He had spilled something on it while powered up, or his liquid cooling leaked. I sent pics to ebay, they investigated and I lost the case.. Had to replace the board, he got away with it :\ I have one left & not sure about selling it on ebay.. May just keep it.

Appeals said, that I had to replace it. The spill could have been done after I received it. It still may be fixable if the bad VRM is replaced. I'll probably just sell it as broken/not working.. That's cool EVGA is hooking you up like that. An X5675 should lock at 25X & turbo 26 same as the 970..
Doesn't sell protection protect you from this when you have proof of postage from the post office?when i sold an OCZ DDR2 kit back in the day, either someone stole it or the buyer lied about not receiving the kit. I went through alot. I mailed it through the post office with delivery confirmation! Had the manager at the post office branch speak with the ebay or paypal rep, they still screwed me. very few times have i felt that level of anger and it still gets to me after 15yrs I was out of a RAM kit and had to pay for the buyer to have it. I almost turned to screw my ebay and paypal account. I think i had a few notifications 2-3 weeks later telling me i had to reimburse the money. When you look at it, they should of made the buyer prove that he didn't receive the ram kit. i provided plenty of proof i mailed it
EDIT: hence the reason I have NO ISSUE USING VULGAR LANGUAGE WITH EBAY AND PAYPAL EVEN WHEN I HAVE PROOF AND AM IN THE RIGHT

Hmmm . . . the Gulftown processor . . . I was actually contemplating a system with that processor when it was "new on the scene." I never knew you could clock them that high, though . . . . :\
The Westmere EP Xeons actually have better headroom for overclocking and are cheaper to purchase.
Sent the board off this afternoon around 3pm. The tech said "there is a Westmere mod" I said "I know but apparently the is a mod for turbo to work." He didn't understand so I referenced the evga forum post. I hope they know what they are doing. Maybe the Westmere mod will enable Turbo for the desktop 6 core chips. All I know is that I'm just excited to be getting this thing fixed. I almost bit the dust and bought a different X58 board off eBay. Who knows what you end up getting off abuseBay
The Turbo mod looked relatively easy for a DIY to tackle.
Unfortunately, now I can't seem to locate the thread that illustrated how to do it.
Ran everything at default speeds (Auto) enabled CxE, Turbo, Speed Step, and it will not hit any turbo numbers. Observed with HWinfo64
