Config is in my sig. I have been running a little over two days continuous uptime and realtemp shows a 39 low and 57 high for this session. I do get around 80 when running Prime95. Core Voltage in Windows is 1.280 idle and 1.232 load(prime95). I can't remember what I had it set at in bios but it seems like .10 over spec? Will check on next reboot and update.

I haven't tried for a higher clock after hitting 4.09.

40 idle, 70 load @ 1.17V vcc, freq = 4.03Ghz

using Noctua NH-U12P cooler and a single 120mm fan.

29,30,33,33 idle
60,62,62,60 load w/ linx
59,60,60,59 load w/ prime95
60,60,61,61 load w/ occt

i7 920 @ 3.780Mhz, you can see all the details of my setup in my sig. I'm pretty damn happy with my temps for my over clock.

Whats the highest overclock for the I7 so far? I'm putting together a water cooling system for under 300 bucks. I'd love to get 4.5-5Ghz out of this chip.

Nope, Drifter. I'm in the there with you.

Stock i920 on Asus P6T - actually I have it slightly underclocked (running in low-power mode using Asus's power saving software). Temp is around 30C at idle. Haven't check it at load.

Internet and Email machine: Intel i7 920|Crucial 6gb DDR3 1333|Intel X58|eVGA 9800GTX+|640gb WD Caviar Black|Antec 300|PC power & Cooling Silencer 750w|Samsung 22" 226BW|Windows 95

So tell me, were the drivers for Win95 a little bit of a challenge?

have you tried undervolting?

unfortunately, C-step does not have C6 enabled. that would be a big help on power saving.

haha yeah my Internet n' email machine... trying to get win7 on a 486 would probably prove to be as difficult.

Yay I'm not the only guy that runs stock!

I Found out why my temps were slowly rising, I have home made filters on my intake vents and they're just about black with dust. Inside the case is spotless though. Cleaned them out and also getting 3 Yate Loons tomorrow to pull in more air.

Mine is at 3.8, loads around 80C in Prime. Really though, I should probably just put it to stock...I never get anywhere close to maxing it out, and it probably pulls a lot more power and dumps more lot of heat into the room.

3.8 here as well. I could probably push to 4.0, but I just don't need the speed.

Funny thing is that my system was easier to get stable at 3.8 than it was at 3.6 and the voltage didn't change.

Damn! Nice chip!

I run mine at 3.8ghz 1.22v 70c @ load.

It does 4ghz prime stable but have to up the vcore to 1.41v giving 80c @ load.

10c for 200mhz not worth it imo

I have my i7 920 at 3.62Ghz (20x181) and 3.8Ghz with turbo. Idle temps are around 40C and load is about 65C in Real Temp 3.0. I'm using all auto settings except for my memory which runs at 1.6v. I'm using the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 cooler with the two 120mm fans. I'd like to get 3.8Ghz stable, but it seems to require a lot of vcore to get it there, which increases the temperature more than I'd like. At least with auto voltages, my vcore drops down pretty low when my system isn't taxed.

I am... but I also have C1E, EIST, and Vdroop all enabled with no issues at all. My CPU idles at 1.07V w/ 12x multiplier (hence my low idle temps of 29,30,33,33 idle).

Even when I am at full load my temps are as low as some people's stock chips (see sig link for exact numbers and setup, cpu 1.27V)

Pretty much. Most of the time when I am not using it, it is folding or encoding. That's not 100% usage by any means, but rock-solid. The most usage at 100% load was from running Prime95 or OCCT for 48 hours to verify stability.

It idles in the high 30's, runs ~45 in normal usage, and hits just around 60C with Prime95 or OCCT.
