Sorry I couldn't resist the sensational headline . . .Yahoo. Maybe we should have them looking for WMD . . . they appear to have some skills.

It said the International Atomic Energy Agency had found virtually all the missing material from the site at Tuwaitha, but had not been able to assess whether any Iraqis had become ill after exposure to it.

Iraq had natural uranium and low enriched uranium. Do either of these have non military purposes?

BBD,
If we're not incompetent we are criminal, it seems to me. The WMD are the alibi and possibly the only thing Bush needs to bring to the election in '04.

I disagree . . . if we find no WMD in Iraq by this time next year . . . the opposition will have a commercial with 20 soundbites of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz talking about WMD . . . followed by "do these people ever tell the truth?"

That's what I meant.. if he brings WMD to the election nothing else will matter... the economy can tank and he'll get four more years to terrorize the world.

"we all have to tighten our belts America I've an invasion to prosecute."

the IAEA has already a long time ago when it documented the materials declared that it is unfit for weapons production

I doubt that will happen. It is too huge of a gamble. Whomever the challenger is, they will worry that GWB is holding back evidence of WMD for just such an occaison. After the commercial runs for a couple of days, the evidence is "found" or relased and the Dem looks like a boob. Only if the Dem has zero chane winning will they try something like that.

There is also the chanec that GWB and co will come out with the reason we all know to be true. The "failure" was in the intelligence community, which had been weakened by a previous, un-named, administration.

Most people know that you can only lie if you knew the truth, being provided bad info from the CIA et al, and following up on that info is not lying.

Of course, they are used for reactors. There are power reactors. There are also uranium fueled small research reactors. These are used to educate people in nuclear technology, do research on radioisotopes and create radioisotopes used for medical diagnosis and treatment, industrial testing and other purposes.

That said, I'd give you 10 to 1 there was a weapons program buried in the Iraq nuclear program.

Well natural uranium is unfit and low enriched uranium is unfit, but they can be made into highly enriched uranium.

Can it be done without a nuclear reactor like North Korea is using? Not attacking, I haven't looked into enrichment methods.
