That seems very good to me considering Amazon has the 20Gig version for $300. I'm tempted...

Costs more, makes the player thicker, and when have you ever listened to music for more than 12 hours straight anyway? It's not that big a deal to plug the player in at night while you sleep.

does this include all the accessories that come with the retail iaudio x5?

there is no list of details ... so how do you know its not just the mp3 player by itself w/charger?

I was wondering that myself, but Newegg sells this as well, with product views that show all the goodies. Same model number that eCost lists.

At any rate, American Express is great about standing behind their customers so if eCost tried something sneaky like that I have no doubt Amex would take care of it.

Would kinda consider this deal toast at the moment. I tried ordering it today
but when I called to confirm the order/that the item was in stock they told me
that it was out of stock and there was no ETA til it was going to be restocked.

The best estimate they could give me was 3-4 business weeks. I said f that and
was going to go through the Cowon website for it but it was out of stock there too
or at least when I tried to order it a pop up told me to reduce the quantities I want
since they couldn't fulfill it and I had only one in my basket....

Anyways newegg has them in stock so I just picked it up there. Semi-regretting not
going with the L version of the 30 gigger but 14 hrs is probably more than enough.

Hmm...I'll call eCost in the morning to confirm but that may force me to get the L version as I want it ASAP. At least Cowon's site does free UPS ground shipping.

Nice deal...been considering this to replace my M3. The 14 hour battery life of my M3 has been plenty, so the non-L version of this should be fine as well.

This is a VERY nice mp3 player. It comes with all the bells and whistles that ipods don't (voice recorder, radio, radio recording). Plus, it has decent video capabilities. It isn't really great for full length movies or high action stuff, but it's great for keeping all the simpsons/family guy/futurama episodes on hand for the boring school classes or long subway rides.

This thread isn't about iRivers, it's about the iAudio X5. The X5 has both the headphone out and the line out jack. The headphone out jack volume is controlled by the player, the line out volume is controlled by the receiver. All you'd need to make it work with your car is a cable with the right size jack on both ends.

Yes, iriver is a different brand than iaudio. I fully support both long before anything else. That said, you just have to buy a cable from radioshack that is an aux out to headphone type jack. You then plug it into the line out and it'll sound great! I do that w/ my IRIVER and it sounds increadible.

Shows in stock at onsale.com and pcmall.com both owned by ecost.com. BUt ground shipping is about $8.99. IMO one can still go ahead and order one from ecost for a back order

Not that this is on-topic at all, but you you need is a cable with a 3.5mm headphone jack plug at both ends. It'll sound way, way better than an FM transmitter.

[edit..missed earlier replies].

Cowon's store

Both of those places list the players at full MSRP. If you're going to do that you might as well order from Cowon's store, which offers free UPS Ground shipping. Also, Cowon's store has the complete model line including the long-battery-life versions.

<-- ordered the 30GB long-battery-life version yesterday from them
