Because of the high failure rate on what I think was the GXP drives. IBM doesn't recommend certain drives of theirs for servers where they will be used 24/7. They recommend the drives be used for 8 hours a day and not be on all the time. Not sure which model(s) they are referring to. Kind of unbelievable, isn't it!

Once upon a time......

A line of IBM Harddrive have problem...

Harddrive Owner complains.

IBM said there is the 8hr recommendation usage per day...according to spec...
