IBM 75GXP problem...

Strange thing happens... Just plugged in 2 brand new 75's into a new W2k system, and W2k doesn?t want to install the drivers. Everything works perfect, but i get this screen every time i boot up:

NT4 found all the drivers, but W2k doesn?t want to... Strange I tell you.
Any suggestions?

Strange. They plugged into ATA100 or anything special? Of if on the onboard controller, make sure it's enabled and found in the bios.

LIKE i said, NT4 has NO problem wiht both drives, but NT5 does... I assume that i am not the first with this problem.

Drivers.... drivers ? What driver ? I have an 30 GB IBM 75 GXP with win 98 and I don't load drivers for them ?!? SHould I ?

Same here, Win2k and WinME, no drivers and it works great, fast as heck

If it were a hardware-related prob, they wouldn't work in *any* OS. Cuz they do (work in at least one OS), it has to be software related.

Do u have them paired w/ another device? Burner? CDROM? Together on same channel.

Could be some kind of weird driver conflict in W2K?

You have SP1?

Have u looked into device mgr settings?

if ya have it hooked up to an ATA100 controller, try hooking it to a 66 one first, see if that works, if it does, install the drivers for the ATA100 over again, and try again.

Thanx for replies, but not much help... I am looking for a person who has the same problem. Random guesses dont help me. They are on CUSL2 (ATA100), SP1 installed....

Are you talking about the drivers for the ATA/100 controller? 'Cause the drives themselves shouldn't need drivers at all.
