Why not do a pricematch with Staples? Then use a $30 off $150/200 promotion. Finally, you save $70 more dollars when Staples doesn't charge shipping. That makes the monitor a flat $619 versus the $719 paid when bought from MicroWarehouse.

Will this work?

Oh, somehow I missed the previous posting of this. Guess I didn't refresh my browser.

<< Look at the micro warehouse description ... "...and spreasheets. Plus, its twin video inputs enable you to connect two PCs at the same time!". I don't know if it really is.. but if it's not we can sue them for product misrepresentation >>

Well, I'm gonna give this deal ba-BUMP! because I bought my FD Trinitron 21" monitor from Dell Factory Outlet Reburbished for about the same price (and same shipping).

From the pictures, with the exception of the respective manufacturer's logos, the monitors look exactly the same. These monitors DO IN FACT HAVE TWO SVGA INPUTS with a switch on the monitor's face for your input swaping pleasure.

Seriously, this monitor's price is glowing, global warming, cook your steak instantly, HOT HOT HOT!

I'm seriously ready to charge on my card to have a dual 21" setup...

...dear God! Help me to resist!

I tried the Pricematch at Staples. The CSR said their product was a 121 Khz unit while the MicroWarehouse unit displays only at 85 Hz(?). Staples doesn't have any specs on their website so I couldn't confirm it...if anybody gets that deal, I would be SHOCKed.

Oh well, I was going to use the $40 off $200 and free shipping too:<

There are some of these monitors floating around my work. The lucky bastards that have them have a pretty damn nice monitor if you ask me....of course I'll take my 22" Mitsubishi anyday

There are two video inputs. One is a DVI-A and the other is standard DB15. They provide you with a DVI-A to DB15 adapter. There is a switch in the front that lets you switch between the two inputs. Pretty nice.

Thanks for mentioning ubid, I know they're cheesy but I won this monitor for $504 yesterday. With shipping it comes to just under $600. I was waiting for a good deal on a 21 inch monitor.

Will you people give up on the lines already? What would you rather have, a fish bowl or a flat screen?

I personally would never buy a monitor with from IBM... My father-in-law worked for IBM for 30 years and recently took early retirement a few years back. Back when IBM was selling the pentium 100 with a 17 inch monitor he bought the system. It worked ok until 1 month past the 3 year warranty when the monitor died. He called IBM and asked if he could send the monitor in to get it fixed. IBM basically told him that there was no way he could get that monitor fixed because IBM didn't make it. He told the guy at IBM "It says "I" "B" "M" right on the monitor what do you mean?". They said "I know, but we didn't make it and therefore don't support it. If you do find a place that will try and repair it, good luck finding parts for it."

He then took his monitor to a repair shop and it sat there for 6 months while they looked for parts for it. It is now in a land fill. He went and bought a Sony monitor. I have 4 sony monitors in my house. One is 7 years old and still works like new.

I also like to buy the Trinitron monitors from Dell which are Sony parts but manufactured by Dell.

That's my piece of cheese worth.

That's an excellent price for an excellent monitor. Too bad it's not the black version though. I think I'll just stick with my black IBM P96 for now. It's the 19" version of this monitor. It also has dual inputs, but they are both hd15 connectors, unlike what's on the P260.

You should be able to PM this with Staples. If they hassle you with the 121Hz vs 80Hz, show them IBM's product info; note it's the same part #, the refresh rates match (though MW misstates it lower on their page, 1920x1440@75 instead of 80, correctly stated in their product title. Whatever that CSr said didn't make sense. And remember, MW, just like Staples, probably has a disclaimer in case their info is wrong; it's the same product, whether or not the webmaster messed up entering the info-fo.

Dude, this is so freakin' sweet I could cry. I just don't have the $.

I just got mine 2 days ago and I love it. The damn thing was so big it didn't fit it my car so I had one of the maintenance guys for my apartment bring it over in his truck. There is a noticable difference in size between my old KDS 19" Trinitron and this 21". All I see is monitor from eyeball to eyeball... talk about immersive! I run it at 1280x960@85hz with my Voodoo3 2k but I have a Radeon LE on the way. Great colors, sharp text... I just wish I would've jumped straight to a 21" instead of "settling" for a 19" last year.

OK. Want to speak to some concerns:

1. Scored two of these babies couple of weeeks ago from ubid @~$428: One had internal damage, the other had a shredded shipping carton. Cheap is cheap. Unfortunate 'cause this is a truly excellent monitor.

2. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Noted (heh) discounter CDW has this unit for $569.93. Note: it was out of stock, but 50 came in a couple of days ago. It's now listed as out of stock again. Hope I'm giving folks a good reference instead of a bummer.

BTW, anyone **ever** get a CTX 21" from Sam's Club without paying $220. shipping? Their fee is a joke!! I shipped one of the IBM P260s across the country by UPS, insured, for $45. It's larger and heavier than the CTX unit.

The gent to complain to is one "S. Robson Walton," Wal-Mart big-wig. I'd guess that if Mr. Sam were around, Wal-Mart wouldn't try to pork the public with bogus 500% markup on shipping fees. But I'd guess that "S. Robert" spends most of his time out of Bentonville and on the French riviera didling movie starlets on his shareholders' dough.

Me, I don't care. Only, I spent $35. to join Sam's Club for the sole purpose of buying this monitor, and the RIPOFF shipping fees were _only_ disclosed after the signup.

**SIGH** Country slickers.

Boogak,
Can you run it at 1600x1280@85Hz? If so, can you check to see if you have a problem with text focusing correctly on the same line? Basically, just open up My Computer and Maximize it. BTW, you should be using a white background with black text for this to be really noticeable. Check out the text REALLY closely. Is it uniform from one letter to the next?? Mine is not, and I am awaiting ubid to pick it up. .. I just want to see if it is design or a flaw in mine.
