The IBM media access keyboards are much better for the money imo. Same color and quality...plus built in usb ports, cd/volume controls, and a bunch of macro keys. can get them for $29 without even looking hard

Hmmm.. I've owned several IBM boards over the years.

The best, IMO, is their "Rapid Response" series. These are the traditional IBM "built like a tank" keyboards that look and feel very nice. The keys are very solid and the overall build quaility is excellent.

This model, however, is their "Active Response" model. I've owned this model as well, and was not impessed. It was very flimsy (flexed back and forth), keys felt cheap and soft...in short, not what I've come to expect from an IBM board.

Directron has quite a few keyboards at decent prices including the IBM Rapid Access Wireless Keyboard and ScrollPoint Wireless Mouse Combo and Key Tronic Computer Keyboard KT2000 and the Black Dell Internet & Multimedia USB Keyboard for $14.

After using a ThinkPad for the past 6 years, I now hate to use anything but a TrackPoint and can't stand traditional mice. I have an IBM desktop keyboard at work with a TrackPoint but it cost $75. I'll check Amazon to see what they've got, thanks!

I have that same black IBM keyboard with Trackpoint (model M13, part# FRU 13H6705). Best tank of keyboard I've ever used. (IBM model M keyboards are great to touchtype with and annoy the other person in the next cubicle).

Picked mine up used from ebay for $25.

i had that IBM keyboard--it was pretty good but i decided i wanted to try the multimedia keyboards. logitech makes an excellent keyboard called the Internet Navigator Keyboard--it has the same quiet touch as the IBM but looks a whole lot better with lots of buttons and things. picked it up at staples for $20.

sorry for the missing link but @ 3:30am you dont link your deal !! it's simply impossible...

plus I said "Spartian"... I need no EXTRA buttons, just a plain keyboard and that's the reason I don't like their "media keyboard"

but I didn't know the rapid response is better, beloved patriot. interesting...
My only worry is if that keyboard has this "plastic" touch that the IBM Thinkpads have...? anybody can clarify?
