I got the T41 thru the Discover link for $1499 but it had a 3 yr warranty. It also had the 2d battery free. Price it out; if getting the extra 2 yr warranty is < $140 then this is a decent deal. Some reports that a T42 or T50 (whatever their nomenclature) will be out in April.

It's pretty good. Since the X40 came out recently, the updates for the T series should be coming out no? Sitting tight till I grow old waiting for a wide screen T series.

Oh and yeah, this isn't a deal if you are just asking about it and not making it public.

Hum... they are going bigger with the T42 screan... 15+ inch? wow... I think the 14incher is very nice... need to get high rez version though!

exellent...so the T42 will be dothan/centrino based? I thought dothan was now only going to come out with sonoma? or...maybe IBM will launch sonoma in may?

I need a new laptop bad, but I think I can wait for a 1.7 dothan/sonoma T42...

now if it only had a MR9600 or go 5700...

I spoke to a pal of mine who works at IBM abt notebook deals and he fwed an email sent to all ibm employees with the details i had mentioned in my 1st message. I asked him for any hidden link with the same details but the email is all there is about this deal!!

I need a laptop real quick and unfortunately i don't have a discover card so i am going ahead with the ibm t40.
