Does anybody know why the T series is more expensive than the A series ?

Since the A series seem to have more features, i.e. bigger HD, screen, etc. can I safely assume the T series have solid gold keys or something ?

The T series is very popular among businesses b/c its lightweight and pretty rugged. The A series has more features (screen, hd, video) and costs a lot more...The T series won't serve as a desktop replacement (games!!), but it'll do everything else just as well. If you need a desktop replacement...get a Dell Inspiron 8000 with Geforce2Go...otherwise the Tpad is the best thing out there...worth every penny...Good luck!

This deal is VERY COLD.

I got the T20 700Mhz (same 100Mhz FSB and 440BX motherboard)... with the 14.1" display for $1309.00 from IBM on eBay. Mine also had DVD and not just CD-ROM! This was only a few weeks ago.

Pay almost $700 more for 100 extra Mhz + smaller screen... and give up DVD. no thanks.

The T* series shouldn't be that much more than the A* series, this is just not a good of deal as the previous ones.

There are better deals, much better, on other brands at this price.

How long does IBM plan to continue these auctions? I'm kinda tempted to jump on one, but perhaps prices will fall in mid-August with all that back to school sale mentality. I'm not sure though. What do you guys think?

I talked to one of the CSR's and they expressed that some "A21P" models will be posted in a week.
Nothing firm. This is the P3 850/32GB/DVD/15" models. They have been posting around 8:25 EST for the past deals. A co-worker and I picked up essentially the same unit execpt for the OS. I received 98SE & they received Win2000. I would never have paid $3300-$3400 full price.
