Previous: T22 or something
Current: X31 1.3 centrino, love it to death, waiting to see if I get lucky and IBM ships one of those 80gb 5400 hard drives to me in hot deals.

current:
- X31 1.5 Centrino with 1.5 ram and 7200rpm HD, its my little speedster
- A21p 800 Mhz P3, this thing is my tank
future:
I'll wait until Intel has a proven 64bit dual core mobile processor, so who knows how long that may be. I do really like the new X60/s form factor though

It's not, actually. The Intel GMA 900 graphics in the X41 and the GMA 950 graphics in the X60 will both outperform the Radeon Mobility, probably by a fairly wide margin. GMA 900 is generally considered to be around the GeForce 2/Radeon 7500 level.

Previous: Sony X505
Now: IBM T41p 2gigs curcial ram, 100gig 7k100 128meg ATI-firegl. 14inch screen.. blah blah...
Next: Most likely another T series or a Z series, but like pookguy, id probably wait til intel has a proven 64bit dual core cpu.

<3 my T41p. it puts a spanking on dell, sony, hp. close to 9 hour battery life with maximum battery save mode and underclocking. And it looks pretty dayam thin compared to dell notebooks.

I just got rid of a T40P 2373-92U.

Just bought a T43 2668-83U and upgraded to 1gb ram as well as adding a Seagate 80gb 7200 rpm drive.

T42 currently.

Hopefully a T60, but perhaps some Toshiba piece of crap (depending on what the IT management at my school decides to purchase for the juniors).

Is it true the T60's build quality is nowhere near the t42/43's quality? I read some ugly opinions about it at Cnet.

My T60 is nicer than the T41 I had from work, in build quality and everything else except for the keyboard, which is equivalent.

Current: T60
Next: Well, no plans as of yet, naturally.

Do note that as with the T4x series, the keyboards vary (NMB, Chicony, and ALPS brands), as do the LCD (Samsung, Hynix, and something else IIRC), so although the keyboards are all quite nice, some are nice than others. Overall, it's incredibly well built.

CNet: there's your first problem.
But unfortunately, the unit is heavier and a tad thicker, isn't it? My 14.1" with 6 cell battery and optical drive gets 5.2lb or 5.3lb on the scale. I wonder what happened to the supposed 4.65lb travel weight on the 1953D6U.

Did the T4x models actually achieve 4.6lb weight for laptop, 6 cell battery, and optical drive, or did Lenovo fudge the weight spec a little?

T60 is actually 1/10th pound lighter then the 40 series when you compare 14" to 14".

The 4.6 pound weight is based on ThinkPad only, no power brick. - not sure if that includes optical or not.....

SO the T60 is almost a direct compare physically/externally to the 40 series as far as weight and dimensions.

I had a 15" T60 and own a 15" T42. It did not seem any thicker or heavier, but felt more sturdy and solid thanks to the rollcage.

T42p at the moment, just upgraded it with a 7200RPM drive and some patriot low latency memory. Feels smooth, as much so as my DC Opteron Rig except when gaming.

Current: T43 15"
Future: Not a thinkpad unless they improve.

Next laptop will have a: decent keyboard, decent graphics, decent screen and better build quality.
