IBM vs. Maxtor HD

I've never used a Maxtor HD before. Of all the HD's I've used I like IBM 75GXP so far, no problem whatsoever.
So I'm asking you guys who have used both drives.
I'm considering either 60GXP 40GB($143) or Diamond Max+ 60 60GB($170)

if you are more of a budget.. go Maxtor.. i put a 30 gig maxtor in my grams.. i have to say it is almost SILENT.. and very fast..IBM's are great too.. but haven't there been some problems with the 75GXP??

I have two Maxtor drives now for two years now with no problems. My Maxtor drives, are very quiet and give me very good performance. Never used IBM, but alot people like them.

I've got a maxtor and an IBM in the same system. The IBM's faster only because it's 7200, but the Maxtor is whisper quiet. I can't even hear it when I put my face on it.
