i just got that added onto my order today by a CSR, as my friend had ordered it with the bundle, and i hadnt. if you just added the 2672-bbu to cart without customizing it, it wasn't apparent that you could get this free mobile bundle.

apparently there's 2 different free mobile kits. if u added it originally, u'd get a travel bag, travel optical mouse, security cable lock, and retractable ethernet cord. if you added through a CSR because you forgot to include it in the original order, you get a 64mb usb2.0 flash thumbdrive, usb2.0 4port hub, and retractable cord.

The Targus mobile kit wasn't supposed to come with the the X31 from this deal. Even if you added the free mobile kit when you customized your order, it only gave you the option of the memory key, usb hub, ethernet cord kit. The Targus mobile kit was only available for certain Thinkpads, which unfortunately this X31 did not qualify for. I can't seem to find the details about the Targus kit anymore but the model #'s listed didn't include this X31 model. If anybody got the Targus mobile kit with this deal...congrats. I hope I get one too since I added it to my cart when I ordered.

I just checked the part number included with my order. Apparently it's the part number for the Targus mobile kit. This wasn't this kit when I added it to my cart at checkout. But I'm not complaining.... I'm just glad I might be getting the Targus kit instead of the crappy USB key and hub.

On fatwallet they seem to say that when u call they just tell u that your the order will ship by next week...still kinda hesitant to call though, although I did want to call to add the free mobile essential kit anyways...

just called asking why the status changed to call them, and they said they were CANCELING ALL ORDERS!!! heehee jk they did that just so people would know that its on backorder for 2 weeks.

whew, at first he asked me what was my shareholder ID, and then said that if I didn't have one he couldn't add the free mobile esental kit and sounded like he wanted to cancel my order as well, then I argued for a bit with him saying I was related to someone who was a shareholder and that I needed to contact him to get his ID number and then he put me on hold, 2 min later he said he to call back with the ID number, but then he put me on hold again for some odd reason and 1 min later he said he added the kit to my order and that I didn't need to call back anymore

whew...if it's just backordered 2 weeks then I don't care. Although I have faith in IBM's dedication to their customers, I was a little worried that they might cancel some orders. I've waited long enough to buy a laptop, another 2 weeks won't be a big deal

Agreed. Although they do look quality/solid, they could use a little help in the looks department, and I've never cared for eraser pointers Pretty nice deal, though...shame it doesn't have a dvdrom

I don't like the old school eraser heads, but these laptops come with 2 new styles as well. One is like a suction cup, and the other is soft with little dots on it. I really like the suction cup.

My status changed to call 1877... from inventory expected within 2 weeks. I called and the lady said there's nothing wrong with my order and it should ship out next week. I dont know why the status changed even the csr doesn't know.

Guess they don't have a "1 week until ship" like they had the "2 weeks to ship".

My order status finally got updated to call 1-877....
