Ibook: 1 or 2 SoDIMM slots

I have a spare 128 stick and want to upgrade my sister's laptop over thanksgiving break... assuming it has 2 slots. Anyone know?

Apple says it supports 640MB with 128 integrated which led me to believe they might only have 1 slot.

That is correct. There's 128 MB of memory soldered to the board and one RAM expansion slot that is, at least for the dual USB or G4 models, located under the keyboard.
