I see my tests were received and why my temps were not affected much by the TIM.
test 1 and test 2. Thanks ICD7.

I loaded up Asus PC Probe II to do my initial check of temps with the current install using Artic Silver 5. Load temp was 63 degrees and idle temp was 39 degrees.
Ends up the stock heat sink was not anchored completely. I hate push pin HSFs.
Hardware
[*]mobo: Asus P5L-VM 1394
[*]CPU: Intel E2140, stock
[*]RAM: 4gb GSKILL 667 MHz
[*]HSF: stock Intel cooler
Stock cooler with AS5
[*]idle temp: 21c
[*]load temp: 31c
Stock cooler with ICD 7
[*]idle temp: 21c
[*]load temp: 32c
When removing the heat sink to install a new TI-128, I noticed the spread wasn't much at all from the pressure of the stock cooler. I'll benchmark temps with the new cooler next weekend (hopefully) and see what happens with it. Also I'll see if I can OC it--especially considering I know now what temps it can handle.
Also, I didn't seem to have any problems at all with applying it. It wasn't nearly as bad as using Ceramique.

Tests were not entirely what I expected. I thought I was pretty good at reading grease contact patterns as I look at more than most. Intel stock coolers were/ have been one of my problem areas. See how it looks after I process the data.
Thanks for helping out and taking the time to test

I definitely won't ever be using them again, except for very temporary cases.
