Over the last three months, a nasty armpit pimple has turned into an abscess, and now a fistule.
Gotta have antibiotics for a week, then they're gonna cut me open, dig out all the dead flesh and pus and germs, and pull the skin over to cover it. Apparently I wont need a skin graft.

Oh, and none of this is covered by my new & improved medical plan.
But I'll save that discussion for P&N.


If I can get someone to join me during surgery you will have pics next tuesday.

bleeds a little. Hurts like hell. Sometimes itches. Dont know if Advil will be enough.

I just had surgery for a pilonidal cyst 14 cm by 5cm. this is week 2 i am out. I currently have a wound vac attached to me 24/7 (1 week as of friday).

God damn! Some lady just went to the front desk to complain about charges. They told her if she doesnt have insurance she'll be charged 500 dollars just for a consultation.

Well yes I have, but not all VA hospitals are good like not all of any hospital is good.

You can go to any though. The VA hospital my dad goes too is better than his uber insurance place (however they don't cover my mom except for eye care since the VA looks at a spouse simply as transportation).

Even in the same state I am in the other VA hospital further south let my grandfather's leg rot off due to cancer which set gangrene into his whole system.

Crap, took the bandage off to replace it.
A big open cut. Looks either it split, or didnt get mended correctly.

Gonna have to go back and probably have 2 of the 4 stitches put back in.

went back to the doctor today. He said the big gaping wound was fine and would not need stitching.

I tried to explain the wound I have now is considerably bigger than the abscess which caused this mess originally. He said it would not get infected again and dont worry.

I am worried.

big wounds heal from inside out. As long as you keep it properly dressed and follow your doctors' instructions, you should be fine.

When it starts smelling nasty and pus is dripping, then see the doctor again.

he saw the pus. He smelled my arm.
Told the nurse to clean the outside area and put a band aid on it.

Still worried. It stinks even if I clean it. And I got the beetus. Supposedly I dont heal as well.
