ICQ Spam

man i hate this crap... i get SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much of it lately.. i recently went back to ICQ cuz i met new people who have it.. so i got my very old account back.. it's like 5 years old... and the account number is in the 13 million.. so it's roughly small...

anyways.. it looks like every spammer has my number.. day in and day out i get these XXX GO HERE XXX BLAH BLAH BLAH crap. and if i leave it on over night and weak up the next day i get around 15 new Porn messages....

i put them all on ignore yet they keep coming back

ICQ needs to do something about this... a spam filter or something...

I'm with you on this one. I think I probably get one or two a day. I don't know why I still use ICQ. I think I'm just going to switch over to AIM.

heh, i've never gotten a single spam msg. prolly because i'm such a low number (400k), but all my friends bitch about it too. we've all pretty much swtiched to AIM, it has everything you need from IM'ing without the steroid-bloatedness of ICQ. even logging features !

I only use Q because some people have yet to switch to MSN out of my friends and msn has a garbage file sending feature...but Q is very bloated and spam is annoying. My ICQ number is 2,000,XXX range. Iget a couple spam a day now.

i installed that pos yesterday for about 3 hrs, had 10-15 spam msgs in that time frame

you can make it so you only receave messages or URLs from people on your list in the security and privacy tabs... pretty cool features.. this is in 2001b i believe...

Oh man I can't stand the spam I get everyday.........I at least get about 25 messages about pr0n, money and some other crap I don't even read.......... :|

The whole concept of instant messaging is so annoying I dont even bother. I tried back around 1996 and never went back.

Yeah, the only problem is that I accidentaly deleted my contact list, so I can't do this.... must....endure....spam...noooo!!!

i suggest anyone using icq switch to miranda.. a much better client IMO
