Now which GPU do you think it was running on... Currently Mac pro doesn't support 8800GTX or 2900XT. I haven't seen any driver support for 8800GTX or 2900XT on Mac pro workstation but could ID have created them self one or was this demo shown on beta Mac pro with 2x8800GTX/2x2900XT.

So was the tech demo running on a :

? ATI Radeon X1900 XT with 512MB GDDR3 SDRAM
or
? NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 with 512MB GDDR3 SDRAM

ahh.. don't you wonder if that tech demo was render in on a single Nvidia Quadro 4500 or X1900XT 512MB because that would be awesome since a higher end gpu would run the game silky smooth

The new MacBook comes with an 8600. So they have 8xxxx drivers for MacOSX.

saw the demo and it was AWESOME!! incredible outdoor scenery and the facial expression is a level better than before. I wonder if it's DX10 only heard it runs on Xbox 360 as well. Carmack needs a nice vacation after pulling this thing off ...

Yet Ids new engine will probably run much smoother on current generation hardware as. Im not judging which engine is better, but im thinking carmack will have a thing or two up his sleeve with this new engine. True shadow maps instead of stencil shadows?

Unfortunately, Id's marketing staff are piss poor at getting devs or publishers on buying the technology.... unlike Epic, which they have, what 40 or 50 games coming out in the next 2 or more years using their engine.

I just hope Devs and Publishers will decide to use this technology!

more than 50% was because of Microsoft shoving down 10million dollars + on Epic to make gears of war and then spending over 100million on marketing the crap out of it. Then everyone going OMG unreal 3.0 engine rocks and sale of unreal 3.0 engine increased by 300%.

Yup it is but i still don't get why John had to come out of hiding from all the possible places to show his new engine at Mac developer conference and it wasn't even mind blowing like his other few showing.
